Tanglevine Spellfocus — Transmog Set Guide
Overview

Tanglevine Spellfocus is a two-handed staff added to World of Warcraft with the Midnight expansion. It is a weapon for intellect-based specializations: priests, mages, warlocks, shamans and druids. Living vine winds along the entire length of the haft, while the head resembles an opened bud, a clear nod to the fungal-botanical aesthetic of the dungeon where the staff drops.
The model is rendered in green, woody tones with a soft bioluminescent glow. The item is level 237 and comes from a dungeon, so it is of interest first and foremost not for its stats but for its appearance in level 90 transmog looks.
Source
The staff drops in the The Blinding Vale dungeon, located in the Harandar zone, the subterranean realm at the roots of the Tree of Life, home to the haranir people.
- The loot source is the Blinding Vale dungeon on Mythic difficulty, where items drop at level 237.
- The dungeon entrance is in the southwestern part of Harandar; the landmark is the coordinates
/way 26.4 78.1. - During leveling, access to the dungeon is unlocked by the Harandar zone story chain, which can be completed from around level 88.
- The loot is bind-on-pickup, so the staff cannot be passed to another character, meaning it must be farmed by whoever wants the appearance.
Visually suited for
- Suited for nature and druidic looks in a green-brown palette with an emphasis on living vegetation.
- Harmonizes with sets themed around the Emerald Dream and forest expansions thanks to its tangled-vine motif.
- Looks great on shamans and druids who go for a wild silhouette without metallic details.
- Stands out in light or temple-themed sets, a debatable but memorable choice for a "nature versus light" look.
Tips
At the start of the Midnight season, the Blinding Vale dungeon can be run outside the keystone rotation, so you can farm it on both Normal and Mythic difficulty.
It is more convenient to farm the appearance on a character with high mobility, to clear the path to the needed boss faster.
Dungeon runs can be repeated without a weekly limit, so if you have bad luck with drops, come back again.
If the staff has not dropped, check the item page on Wowhead to see whether the source boss has changed after the latest update.
It is efficient to collect the staff alongside other Blinding Vale rewards, closing several transmog goals in a single run.
An appearance you have already obtained is saved in your appearance collection and becomes available to all eligible characters on the account.
