Get The Dreamer

The Dreamer is an epic-quality one-handed dagger worn in the off-hand. It is the second, intermediate form of the legendary rogue weapon from the "Fangs of the Father" chain, added to World of Warcraft with patch 4.3 of the Cataclysm expansion. It is paired with the main-hand dagger The Sleeper — together they form the "Maw of Oblivion" set.

The dagger's model follows the twilight theme of the Dragon Soul raid: a dark, warped blade with a purple-black sheen and a spiked guard, echoing the look of the twilight dragons. This is the recognizable intermediate appearance of the legendary chain — it differs from both the starting daggers "Fear" and "Vengeance" and the final legendary pair, so it is valued as a separate, rarer cosmetic option.

The appearance of "The Dreamer" is available only to rogues: only this class can complete the quest chain that grants the dagger. The in-game appearance of "The Sleeper" and "The Dreamer" is identical, so it shows up in the appearance collection as a single entry.

"The Dreamer" is the reward for a quest available only to rogues. It is the eleventh step of the large "Fangs of the Father" chain that leads to the legendary daggers of the Cataclysm era.

• The dagger is granted by the quest Victory in the Depths. This is the concluding quest of the second stage of the chain.
• The quest giver is Wrathion, the Black Prince. He is found at Ravenholdt Manor in the Hillsbrad Foothills zone.
• To obtain "The Dreamer" and "The Sleeper", you must first complete the first stage and acquire the daggers Fear and Vengeance.
• The chain involves several trips into the Dragon Soul raid: some tasks require gathering items from the raid's bosses.
• The daggers are granted once per character. The appearance can be applied at any transmogrification master in major cities.

You can still complete the chain today. Access opens at the entrance to the Dragon Soul raid, after which you receive the first pair of daggers and gradually upgrade them to the "Maw of Oblivion", and then to the final legendary pair.
