Timely Tourist's Beacon Staff — Transmog Set Guide
Overview
Timely Tourist's Beacon Staff is a two-handed caster staff from the “Timely Tourist” set, added in The War Within expansion for the twentieth anniversary of World of Warcraft. It is a tall frame staff with a lightly glowing finial, kept in neutral bronze-and-sand tones — visually it echoes the theme of travel through time and sits well on the look of a wandering chronomancer.
The item is granted only to caster specializations — mages, druids, priests, shamans, warlocks, monks and evokers. The staff is available from level 70 and serves as a paired weapon for the cloth set of the same collection, so it is worth assembling first and foremost for the appearance rather than the stats.
Source
The staff does not drop directly from bosses. It sits among the random loot of the
Timely Goodie Bag — a reward bag from the weekly “Timewalking” quests.
- The quest is picked up from the adventure journal during an active Timewalking dungeon event. The starter of the chain is An Original Journey Through Time.
- The goal of the quest is to complete five Timewalking dungeons. It is available to characters from level 10 to 79.
- Completion grants the bag, one Timewarped Badge and bronze anniversary tokens.
- The bag contains gold and one random item from the set suited to your level and class. The staff will drop only for a caster.
During the World of Warcraft anniversary, set items also drop from Chromie's anniversary bags. They are awarded for completing the Chromie's Codex scenario through the group finder tool: a regular bag for characters of levels 10–79, an upgraded one for level 80, and a separate bag for the first level-80 completion of the week.
Visual fit
- A natural match for the cloth set of the same collection — for example, the
Timely Tourist's Robes. - The bronze-and-sand palette harmonizes with looks tied to the theme of time, sand and desert — a fit for mages and priests in light tones.
- The neutral silhouette is handy as a universal staff for everyday cloth sets where no bright accent weapon is needed.
- It looks great with the set's accessories, such as the
Timely Tourist's Pendant, if you are assembling a cohesive time-traveler look.
Tips
The easiest farming is during Timewalking dungeon events — the five-dungeon quest can be closed out in a single evening.
During the World of Warcraft anniversary there are more sources: the Chromie's Codex scenario is added, which noticeably speeds up collecting missing appearances.
Take the quest on a caster-class character from level 10 to 79 — only then can the bag yield the staff itself rather than a weapon of another type.
The appearance unlocks account-wide: once you obtain the staff on one character, you will be able to use it in transmogrification on all casters.
If the week dropped a set item you do not need, repeat the quest in following weeks — the bag loot is random, but there is no limit on repeating.
At level 80 the separate weekly bag for the first scenario completion gives the best chance to expand your collection, so do not skip it during the anniversary period.
