Toxic Revenger — Transmog Set Guide
Overview

Toxic Revenger is a rare one-handed dagger originating from classic World of Warcraft. Visually it is a short blade in a poisonous green hue with a slightly curved edge: a compact model that is easy to mistake for an ordinary low-level weapon until you notice its distinctive toxic coloring.
The item's main feature is not its stats but its equip effect: your melee strikes have a chance to spawn a cloud of poison that deals Nature damage to nearby enemies. It is precisely this detail that put the dagger on collectors' radar: in transmog it looks like the weapon of a poisoner or an underground alchemist.
The blade's name references the movie "The Toxic Avenger," and the green color scheme plays directly on that theme. By transmog standards it is a niche but recognizable item: poisonous green daggers at low levels are few, and Toxic Revenger is one of the most accessible among them.
Source
Toxic Revenger can be obtained only one way — by looting it from a boss in a dungeon.
- Dungeon — Gnomeregan, a classic dungeon for levels 10–30. The entrance is located in the Dun Morogh zone, in its northwestern corner, near the village of Coldridge (approximate coordinates 24, 40).
- Boss — Viscous Fallout, the dungeon's second boss. It is a large ooze elemental that is hard to miss on the way deeper into Gnomeregan.
- Drop chance — about 20%. That is a fairly generous figure for a transmog item: after a few runs the dagger will almost certainly end up in your bag.
- There is no limit on the number of attempts. The dungeon can be reset as many times as you like with a manual reset, subject to a cap on entries per hour, so you can farm the drop without weekly locks.
- Reaching Gnomeregan is easiest for the Alliance: the path runs from Ironforge through Dun Morogh to the elevator that descends to the outer tunnels in front of the dungeon portal. For the Horde the road is longer — the fastest option is to use the goblin transponder after unlocking the corresponding quest chain.
A Good Visual Fit For
- A poisoner or underground alchemist look: the green blade fits logically into sets with dark leather armor in swampy and toxic shades.
- A "dirty" weapon concept for a rogue: the dagger sits well in kits that emphasize poisons and dishonest close-quarters combat.
- A matched pair of two identical blades for specs that wield two daggers — a monochrome green pair looks cohesive and tidy.
- Themed looks playing on the radiation and contamination of Gnomeregan: a poisonous dagger from the very same place supports a technogenic-toxic aesthetic.
- A contrast with heavy plate armor in cold tones — a debatable but expressive choice if you want to make the weapon a visual accent.
Tips
Gnomeregan is a low-level dungeon, so a character at level 30 or above clears it solo without trouble. A dedicated collecting run will not take much time.
Viscous Fallout is the second boss along the route, so reaching it is quick; if you only care about the dagger, you can kill the boss and reset the dungeon right away.
For speedy farming, classes with high mobility and steady area damage are convenient — they quickly clear the path of infected troggs up to the boss.
With a drop chance of about 20%, keep in mind that a streak of unlucky runs is possible; usually 5–10 runs are enough.
The appearance is credited to your collection upon the first time any character on the account obtains the item — there is no need to farm the dagger again on other heroes.
While farming Toxic Revenger, take a look at the rest of Gnomeregan's loot: the dungeon hands out several recognizable classic-era items useful for an appearance collection.
Do not confuse this blade with the epic Toxic Revenger II from Season of Discovery — for transmog on the retail server you need exactly the rare Toxic Revenger.
