Twilight Ascension Event
Twilight Ascension Event
Twilight Ascension is a pre-patch event for the Midnight expansion. It runs from January 28 to March 3, 2026 and is available to all characters who have reached level 10.
During this event, you can earn unique mounts, transmog items, housing decorations, toys, and battle pets. If your character hasn't reached max level yet, you'll earn experience for each completed task and challenge, which pairs well with the experience bonus from the Winds of Mysterious Fortune event, as both events run at the same time.
How to Participate in the Event
All characters above level 10 who have completed a short quest chain can participate. The event is available to all players, so purchasing Midnight is not required.
The event takes place in the Twilight Highlands zone.

Unlocking the Event
To unlock this event and travel to the event zone, you need to complete a short story questline. It begins with the quest The Cult Within, which you'll receive upon logging in on the event's start day. You'll need to speak with Magister Umbric or Grand Magister Rommath depending on which faction you play.
The quest chain includes the following quests:
The Cult Within (Alliance) or The Cult Within (Horde)
Avoiding Blame (Alliance) or Avoiding Blame (Horde)
The Twilight Highlands (Alliance) or The Twilight Highlands (Horde)
Upon completing the story, you'll earn the title Definitely Not a Cultist and a special tabard for transmogrification.
What Happens During the Event
During Twilight Ascension, players will have access to four activities:
- Boss Fights
- Weekly Quests
- World Quests
- Special Puzzle Game
Boss Fights
Every 10 minutes from the event's start, a message will appear in the game chat: Twilight's Blade has begun summoning additional forces. Defeat their ritual leaders! and a special marker will appear on the map. That's where the boss will be located. The boss will be protected by a special barrier, and you won't be able to deal damage to it. To remove the barrier, you need to complete two tasks:
Fill the progress bar by killing mobs near the boss (progress is shared among all players in the zone, so it won't take long).
Kill three enemies who are casting a spell that sustains the barrier. This spell cannot be interrupted, and the enemies are immune to crowd control, so they must be killed.
If done correctly, the protective barrier will be removed and the boss can be killed.
We recommend grouping up for boss kills, as the boss is strong and defeating it solo will be very difficult. You have exactly 10 minutes from when the message appears in chat. If the boss isn't killed within that time, it will disappear and the next one will spawn in a different location.
There are 18 bosses in total that spawn in strict sequence one after another every 10 minutes.
- Redeye the Skullchewer
- T'aavihan the Unbound
- Ray of Putrescence
- Ix the Bloodfallen
- Commander Ix'vaarha
- Sharfadi, Bulwark of the Night
- Ez'haadosh the Liminality
- Berg the Spellfist
- Corla, Herald of Twilight
- Void Zealot Devinda
- Asira Dawnslayer
- Archbishop Benedictus
- Nedrand the Eyegorger
- Executioner Lynthelma
- Gustavan, Herald of the End
- Voidclaw Hexathor
- Mirrorvise
- Saligrum the Observer
Additionally, at the start of each hour, a special boss Voice of the Eclipse will appear. An Ephemeral Void appears on the map, protected by void spheres. You need to destroy these spheres, after which the boss itself will appear.
If you manage to defeat all 19 bosses, you'll receive the achievement Two Minutes to Midnight and the mount Lightforged Mechsuit.

Weekly Quests
Every Wednesday, you can complete 2 weekly quests:
- Interrupt the Call
- Twilight Dawn
These are small quests that require you to be active during the event.
Interrupt the Call requires you to kill 3 of any event bosses. Twilight Dawn requires completing world quests or killing any event bosses.
Quests are unique per warband. Completing them on one character will not reward you on other characters, so there's no need to complete them on all warband members.
World Events
Every 12 hours, world quests will appear on the map. These are small tasks that require you to defeat several enemies, fill a progress bar in an area by performing various actions, etc.
A world quest lasts exactly 3 days and 12 hours before disappearing. Up to 6 world quests can be active on the map at once, and new ones won't appear until you complete the previous ones (or until their timer expires).
World quests are shared across your entire warband, so repeating them on other warband characters will not grant additional rewards.
Special Puzzle Game
In the event camp, there's a tome that, when interacted with, starts the mini-game Twilight's Blade Stratagem. The game itself is tic-tac-toe, but instead of X's and O's, it uses Alliance and Horde crests.
Winning the game earns you the achievement Cultist's Strategy.
From the event reward vendor, you can purchase a toy that lets you play this game anywhere and anytime, regardless of the event.
