Vicious Spellblade — Transmog Set Guide

Vicious Spellblade is an uncommon one-handed dagger added to World of Warcraft with the Wrath of the Lich King expansion. It is a compact piercing weapon with a swing speed of 1.80 and stats tuned for spellcasting classes: intellect and stamina. By transmog standards it is a typical "caster dagger" of a starting Northrend zone — a short blade with a light silhouette, without a massive guard and without a glow effect.

The value of the item lies not in its stats — for the modern game they have long been irrelevant — but in its appearance. The blade is easy to obtain at low levels, and it suits light, "magical" character looks: its modest size does not draw attention to itself and looks great on casters who need a dagger for the stats rather than for spectacle.

The Vicious Spellblade is a quest reward, and the very same item can be obtained from two different starting quests of the Borean Tundra, one for each faction. Both quests are simple and can be completed within the very first minutes of your time in Northrend.

Alliance — the quest "The Siege":

• The quest giver is Sergeant Hammerhill at Valiance Keep, Borean Tundra.
• The quest giver's coordinates are roughly /way 56.4 69.4.
• The task: kill 6 nerubar crawlers in the sands of Nahom beyond the keep walls.
• Turning it in also grants reputation with the Valiance Expedition.

Horde — the quest "Cutting Off the Source":

• The quest giver is Overlord Razgor at Warsong Hold, Borean Tundra.
• The quest giver's coordinates are roughly /way 43.2 55.0.
• The task: destroy 10 nerubar eggs on the scaffolding around the quarry.
• Turning it in also grants reputation with the Warsong Offensive.

The blade is given as one of several reward choices: in both quests the list contains several items for different roles. To get exactly the dagger for your appearance collection, when turning in the quest you must select the Vicious Spellblade in the reward window, rather than a weapon of a neighboring type. The limit is once per character: you cannot turn in the same quest again, so to unlock the appearance it is enough to complete one quest of either of the two factions.

The Vicious Spellblade has no official color recolor variants. A caster dagger close in role and era that is worth considering as a replacement:
