Vicious Warbarbarian — How to Get the PvP Mount
Vicious Warbarbarian

Vicious Warbarbarian is a seasonal PvP mount awarded for completing the Galactic Brawler achievement. The mount is available only during the current PvP season of the Midnight expansion and cannot be obtained after it ends. It comes in two color variants matching the character's faction — Alliance or Horde.
If you participate in rated matches and want to add a unique reward to your mount collection — one that will become permanently unavailable — now is the time to get started.
How to Get the Vicious Warbarbarian
The mount is awarded automatically after filling the Season Rewards progress bar in the Rated PvP section. The bar is displayed on the "Rated" tab of the PvP interface.
Requirements
- Rating: at least 1000 (Combatant rank)
- Modes: wins count in any rated format:
- Arena 2v2
- Arena 3v3
- Solo Shuffle
- Battleground Blitz
- Condition: a win only counts toward progress if your current rating is 1000 or above
Step-by-Step Instructions
- Open the PvP interface — press H (default) or find the PvP icon in the menu.
- Go to the "Rated" tab — this displays the Season Rewards progress bar.
- Reach a rating of 1000 or higher in any rated mode. The 1000 threshold is reached relatively quickly — most players pass it within the first few sessions.
- Win rated matches — each win at 1000+ rating fills the progress bar.
- Fill the bar to 100% — the mount will then appear automatically in your collection.
How Many Wins Are Needed
The exact number depends on the mode. Each format grants a different amount of progress per win:
| Mode | Approximate Wins Needed |
|---|---|
| Arena 2v2 | ~240 wins |
| Arena 3v3 | ~80 wins |
| Solo Shuffle | ~80–100 wins |
| Battleground Blitz | ~40 wins |
You can combine modes — progress is shared. For example, do half through Solo Shuffle and the other half through Battleground Blitz.
Optimal Strategy
Which Mode to Choose
Battleground Blitz — the fastest option. Only about 40 wins, and matches don't last much longer than arena games. Best for those who enjoy large-scale PvP.
Arena 3v3 — the second-fastest route (~80 wins). Requires a coordinated three-player team, but each win grants significant progress.
Solo Shuffle — a convenient format for playing without a steady group. Around 80–100 wins, with automatic group finder.
Arena 2v2 — the least efficient path. About 240 wins — nearly three times more than 3v3.
Tips for Faster Progress
- Playing on multiple characters won't work — progress is tied to a specific character. Pick one and focus on it.
- Watch your rating — if your rating drops below 1000, wins will stop counting toward progress. However, progress already earned is not lost.
- Mix modes — if you hit a losing streak in one format, switch to another. Progress is shared across all rated modes.
- Session timing — during prime time (weekday evenings, weekends) queues are shorter and matchmaking is faster.
What Happens After Getting the Mount
After filling the progress bar for the first time, you receive the Vicious Warbarbarian. Each subsequent completion of the bar in the same season awards a
Vicious Saddle — a special item you can trade with PvP vendors for mounts from previous seasons.
Vendors that accept Vicious Saddles:
- Alliance: Necrolord Sipe — Stormwind
- Horde: Deathguard Netharian — Orgrimmar
They offer dozens of mounts from previous PvP seasons, starting from Mists of Pandaria. This is the only way to obtain retired seasonal mounts.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I get the mount after the season ends? No. The Vicious Warbarbarian is tied to the current PvP season. Once the season ends, it becomes permanently unavailable.
Do unrated battles count? No. Only rated modes give progress. Random battlegrounds, skirmishes, and duels do not count.
Are the Alliance and Horde versions different? Yes, visually. The Alliance version has blue armor coloring, the Horde version has red. The mount model itself is the same.
Do I need 1000 rating in EVERY mode? No. You only need 1000+ rating in at least one rated mode. Wins count in any mode where your current rating is 1000 or above.
Is progress lost if my rating drops? Accumulated progress is not lost. But while your rating is below 1000, new wins will not add progress.
