Voidcore Greatstaff — Transmog Set Guide
Overview

Voidcore Greatstaff is an epic two-handed staff from the Warlords of Draenor expansion, added with that expansion's final raid. The model is built around the green flames of the Fel and the violet flickers of the Void: the head pulses with dark energy, and streams of felfire run down the shaft. This is a weapon for casters — druids, priests, shamans, mages, warlocks, monks and evokers, meaning any specializations that wield staves.
Visually the item reads as a purely demonic artifact. If you are assembling a set in a dark green or Void color scheme, this staff is one of the most expressive silhouettes of its generation, and it requires no rating or rare currency — only a trip into an outdated raid.
Source
The staff drops from the final hidden boss of the Hellfire Citadel raid — this is Xhul'horac. The raid is located in Tanaan Jungle and belongs to the Warlords of Draenor expansion (patch 6.2).
- Source — a drop from the boss Xhul'horac in the Hellfire Citadel raid.
- Drop chance — about 12% per run on a character.
- The boss is available on difficulties from Raid Finder to Mythic, and the staff can drop on any of them.
- Limit — one kill of the boss per week on each difficulty level per character.
How to get there: first unlock Tanaan Jungle through the shipyard quest chain in your garrison. After that, fly to the center of the zone — the raid entrance is at the top of the fortress at the point /way 46.5 53.0. An alternative is teleporting to your faction's capital in Tanaan Jungle and a short flight from there.
At max level 90 in Midnight the entire raid is cleared solo. Raid Finder, Normal and Heroic difficulties go down without trouble; on Mythic certain bosses like Archimonde demand attention to mechanics, but Xhul'horac creates no obstacles for solo transmog farming.
Who It Suits Visually
- Fits Fel and demonic-themed sets — the green flame of the head rhymes with the fel shoulders and belts of the Warlords of Draenor era.
- Harmonizes with armor in dark violet and black tones — looks for the Void, Old God cultists, and dark priests.
- Looks great with warlock and priest shadow sets thanks to the dual fel-and-Void glow.
- Contrasts with light cloth and gold — a debatable but striking accent for a "fallen paladin" or a forsaken mage.
- The silhouette of a massive two-handed staff sets a serious, ritual tone — suitable for archmage and summoner looks.
Tips
Enter the raid weekly on each difficulty level — this multiplies the number of attempts to win the staff in a single week.
For speed farming, classes with self-healing and mobility are handy — death knight, demon hunter, paladin.
Other caster loot also drops from Xhul'horac, so a run is rarely empty even without the staff you need.
Bring all your casting alts — the appearance unlocks account-wide, and more characters mean more weekly attempts.
Do not waste time on Mythic difficulty for the looks — the staff also drops in Raid Finder, which clears the fastest.
Before entering, make sure Tanaan Jungle is already unlocked through the shipyard quests, otherwise the raid entrance will be unavailable.

Started playing back in Pandaria, when the pandaren were still a novelty. Got stuck on Monk because it's the only class where you don't get dizzy after a dash. Tries to manage both tanking and kicking enemies in the face.
