Voidglass Kris — Transmog Set Guide

Overview

Voidglass Kris is an epic one-handed dagger from the Manaforge Omega raid, the final raid of The War Within expansion (patch 11.2).

The blade is forged from "voidglass": a dark crystalline edge with a violet-cosmic sheen, a jagged break along the cutting edge, and shards that float above the hilt. The grip is made in the Ethereal K'aresh style — the same dark crystalline aesthetic that unifies every weapon in this raid. The dagger is built for intellect classes: its item stats are tuned toward spell power.

The Voidglass Kris is part of the four-item Voidglass Shards collection. All four items share the same combat effect, Voidglass Shards: your spells have a chance to summon voidglass shards that deal cosmic damage to enemies or orbit allies and absorb damage for 20 seconds. Besides the dagger, the collection includes a staff, a one-handed sword, and a trinket — the full list is in the "Alternatives" section.

For a collector, the value of this dagger lies in its model: the dark-violet crystalline silhouette fits void- and star-themed sets perfectly, and it is obtained without rating or reputation — a single boss kill is enough.

Source

The Voidglass Kris drops from the boss Fractillus, an elemental nicknamed "the Splitter". It is a warden of the cliffs and dunes around the manaforge, defending its domain with the power of biting sand and the hardened glass of the barren wastes.

  • Raid: Manaforge Omega in the K'aresh zone, the final raid of The War Within.
  • Boss: Fractillus sits in the second wing of the raid, after Soulbinder Araz and the Soul Hunters.
  • Slot: one-handed dagger, main hand or off hand.
  • Binding: bind on pickup.
  • Lock: one run per week per character on Normal, Heroic, and Mythic difficulty.

The dagger is just one item in Fractillus's loot table, so the specific drop chance per kill is low and depends on group size and the number of intellect classes in the raid. For the appearance this doesn't matter: getting the dagger into your bags just once permanently records the model to your whole account's wardrobe.

Difficulties

The dagger drops on all four raid difficulties. The higher the difficulty, the higher the item level, but the transmog model is identical across every version. Any difficulty works for the look.

Difficulty Purpose
Raid Finder The most accessible path, group matchmaking is automatic.
Normal Unlocks the appearance, moderate difficulty.
Heroic Unlocks the appearance, higher item level.
Mythic Maximum item level, fixed 20-player roster.

Story Mode

The raid has a Story mode — a simplified variant for clearing the storyline with a small group. You can start it through Alleria Windrunner or Phase-General Amir at the raid entrance. Bosses in this mode are simplified and the loot is fixed, so Story mode does not award the Voidglass Kris for your wardrobe — for the appearance you need to run one of the four regular difficulties.

How to Enter the Raid

The entrance to Manaforge Omega is at the Twilight Edge point in the north-western part of the K'aresh zone. To enter the instance you need the Reshi Wraps from the "Ghosts of K'aresh" campaign — without them the portal into the raid won't open.

/way #2339 41.8 21.0 Entrance to Manaforge Omega

The fastest way to get there is through the Group Finder: open the window with the I key, the "Raids" tab, pick Manaforge Omega and the difficulty you need — the game will teleport you straight to the entrance.

Alternatives

The Voidglass Kris is part of the Voidglass Shards collection. These are four items with a shared design model and a shared combat effect, and all of them drop in Manaforge Omega. If you specifically want this dark-crystalline aesthetic, it makes sense to farm several slots at once.

Item Type
Voidglass Kris One-handed dagger
Voidglass Lord's Edge One-handed sword
Voidglass Spire Two-handed staff
Diamantine Voidcore Trinket

The dagger has no separate green or red recolor — all four collection items use the same dark-violet palette. If you want a similar silhouette in a different shade, look to the daggers from the rest of the Manaforge Omega gear: the entire raid is themed around crystalline Ethereal styling, and many of its models echo the same shape.

Visual Pairing

The dark-violet blade with cosmic glints looks best in sets with a void or star theme. A few proven directions:

  • With armor sets from the Manaforge Omega raid itself — the dagger and the armor are made in the same crystalline palette and material.
  • With Affliction and Demonology Warlock looks — the blade carries a violet "unhealthy" glow that is associated with these specializations.
  • With Shadow Priest sets — the dagger's void theme directly echoes the specialization's aesthetic.
  • With black-and-silver leather armor sets — the dagger adds a bright violet accent in a dark palette.
  • As a contrasting but risky choice, the blade reads against light golden sets — a deliberate play on the "void versus light" opposition that isn't for everyone.

Tips

1

The appearance unlocks on any difficulty, so for the transmog go where the group is easiest to assemble — usually the Raid Finder.

2

Fractillus is available once per week on each difficulty separately: a Normal kill does not lock out Heroic, so within one play period you can make several attempts at the dagger.

3

The dagger is for intellect classes: Priest, Mage, Warlock, Druid, Shaman, and Evoker. A Rogue or Hunter cannot equip it as a weapon, but as an appearance it is available to any class that uses daggers once you've collected it.

4

In The War Within Season 3 all loot distribution is personal — your dagger chance is rolled only for your character and does not depend on the number of other intellect classes in the group.

5

After several raid boss kills in a week, the dagger may appear in the Great Vault as one of the reward-choice options — an extra shot at the slot you need.

6

Once you get the dagger, equip it right away: the appearance is recorded to your whole account's wardrobe, and you won't have to return to the raid for this model again.

7

The paired inv_sword_1h_etherealraid_d_01Voidglass Lord's Edge is a separate appearance line and a separate model. If you specifically want the dagger, focus on Fractillus and don't confuse the drop with the sword.
