Developers' Notes
The combat rage generation system for Warriors and Druids has been completely redesigned.
Druid
- Mana potions can now be used in
Bear Form,
Dire Bear Form, and
Cat Form. - Bonus rage from the Druid's own critical strikes has been increased from 75% to 100%.
Thorns: base damage has been restored to its original-game values, and the spell power coefficient has been reduced from 13.3% to 6%.
Cat Form: fixed a bug that caused shapeshifting to reduce maximum health.
Bear Form: threat generation bonus increased from 30% to 50%.
Dire Bear Form: threat generation bonus increased from 30% to 50%.- Effects that alter the appearance of shapeshift forms now have additional restrictions. Your current form should be easier to identify in combat; some transformations with extra benefits will continue to work.
Demoralizing Roar: now generates threat on all affected enemies. Previously, the ability incorrectly generated no threat.
Wrath: base values and per-level scaling for ranks 1–5 have been adjusted. Its progression through rank 6 is now more consistent, and learning a new rank always improves the spell.
Feral
Bonus Healing from Intellect: the updated talent now also increases healing spell power by 12% or 25% of Intellect, depending on talent rank.
Mana-to-Energy Conversion: can no longer be used while at maximum Energy.
Thick Hide: fixed the talent when changing equipment in shapeshift form.
Hunter
Disengage: the threat reduction has been doubled. The previously planned buff was not actually working.- Fixed a bug that could repeatedly grant a pet bonus health while it was at low health.
Beast Mastery
Frenzy: now correctly increases pet damage.
Marksmanship
Improved Concussive Shot: fixed the talent's proc chance.
Survival
Improved Wing Clip: fixed its proc chance. The chance is reduced when using ranks far below the character's level.
Loot Detection: duration increased from 5 to 10 seconds.
Entrapment: now correctly follows diminishing return rules for repeated crowd control.
Entrapment: now triggers only when
Freezing Trap is first placed, not from its periodic effects.
Mage
Impact: no longer triggers from periodic damage dealt by
Flamestrike.
Frostbolt: base damage and per-level scaling for ranks 1–5 have been adjusted for more consistent progression through rank 6.
Fireball: base damage and per-level scaling for ranks 1–5 have been adjusted. Each new rank should now be an improvement over the previous one.
Arcane Missiles: ranks 1–3 have been similarly updated for more consistent scaling through rank 4.
Paladin
Retribution Aura: now uses the Paladin's own spell power instead of that of the ally being attacked.
Retribution Aura: base damage has been restored to its original-game values, a reduction of about 33%. Its spell power coefficient has been reduced from 13.3% to 6%.
Protection
Reckoning: a 1.5-second internal cooldown has been added between triggers.
Seal of Fury: no longer restores mana without the
Improved Seal of Fury talent.
Improved Seal of Fury: mana restoration no longer generates threat.
Shield Specialization: mana restoration no longer generates threat. This removes the extra threat Paladins gained from maintaining mana while tanking.
Priest
Smite: base values and per-level scaling for ranks 1–4 have been adjusted for more consistent progression through rank 5.
Lesser Heal: base healing for ranks 1–3 has been adjusted.
Heal: base healing for ranks 1–2 has been adjusted. Together with the previous spell's changes, this makes progression between ranks through rank 3 more consistent.
Discipline
Penance: damage and healing have been reduced to correct an erroneous calculation. The spell was previously calculated as a three-second channeled spell, although its actual duration is 2 seconds.
Penance: mana costs have been revised to preserve its mana-efficiency advantage over regular direct-healing spells. Rank 1 cost increased by 50%.
Penance: ranks 2 and 4 received separate healing increases as part of the overall recalculation.
Shaman
Flametongue Totem: for a target in an altered form, it now uses the target's attack speed instead of the speed of its equipped weapon.
Lightning Bolt: base values and per-level scaling for ranks 1–5 have been adjusted for more consistent progression through rank 6.
Elemental
Elemental Focus: fixed its interaction with
Ring of Fire, which caused the talent effect to trigger and be consumed immediately.
Restoration
Water Shield: the buff tooltip now shows the correct amount of mana restored.
Water Shield: removed the tooltip mention of a 15-second cooldown, which the ability did not actually have.
Mana Tide Totem: restored the visual effect for its periodic pulses.
Warlock
- Your current pet is now stunned while a new pet is being summoned.
Shadow Bolt: base values and per-level scaling for ranks 1–4 have been adjusted for more consistent progression through rank 5.
Demonology
Demonic Mark: bonus pet damage now generates increased threat only when dealing Shadow damage.
Warrior
Demoralizing Shout: now generates threat on all affected enemies. Fixed a bug that prevented it from generating threat.
Arms
Deep Wounds: the talent is once again required to learn
Impale.
Deep Wounds: removed incorrect scaling from off-hand weapon attack power. The effect should not scale with attack power; damage from new applications is added to the active periodic effect.
Protection
Last Stand: fixed the amount of health granted when the ability is used.
