Bug Fixes

Fixed a bug where casters would not play the spellcasting-preparation animation and sometimes stood still while casting.

The water-jump sound is now more pleasant to the ear.

Adjusted human death sounds.

Fixed a bug where your character would stand up when trying to craft an item or cast a spell while waiting for the campfire effect.

  • You can now stack buffs, cast spells, and craft items while waiting for the campfire effect.
  • The campfire effect can now be gained while sitting, sitting in a chair, sleeping, lying down, or using the /kneel emote.

Fixed a bug with the incorrect display of Huey Sunnydale's legs.

Fixed a bug where a Season of Discovery rune ability was visible.

Fixed a bug where pet loyalty would not decrease after reaching max level.

The sludge in the Undercity canals no longer glows brighter than intended.

Removed a setting that allowed fog to be disabled in an unintended way.

Fixed water rendering and various graphical artifacts on macOS.

Fixed a memory leak that caused some players' performance to degrade over time.

Fixed a bug where in-game mail could ignore surnames.

Classes

If you have not changed your talents in a while, a reset now costs 1 silver. This is a temporary measure for the beta only: after your first reset the price will rise, but after 1 hour it drops back to 1 silver.

Druid

Druid

  • Game iconRejuvenation can now deal critical heals.
  • Game iconTranquility can now deal critical heals.
  • The base damage of Game iconWrath has been increased by roughly 50%.
  • Game iconThorns now dynamically recalculates its values based on the spell power of the caster who applied it.
  • If the caster is not found or is too far away, Game iconThorns reverts to its base values.

FeralFeral

  • Game iconPrimal Bite is the new name for the Maim ability. Its signature debuff was removed, so the old name no longer reflected what it does.
  • All talents that referenced Maim now reference Game iconPrimal Bite.
  • The talent Primal Fury has been renamed back to Game iconBlood Frenzy and had its original icon restored.
  • Fixed a bug where Game iconFeral Charge (Cat) could be cast on an ally.

RestorationRestoration

Hunter

Hunter

Pets

  • The attack power bonus from Game iconFurious Howl has been reduced by 40%.
  • The Game iconUltrasound ability is now correctly available to bat pets.
  • Game iconTame Beast no longer works on beasts whose level is higher than the hunter's.

MarksmanshipMarksmanship

  • Opting out of the Game iconLone Wolf talent no longer causes a −4% damage penalty while the hunter has an active pet.

SurvivalSurvival

Mage

Mage

  • Game iconArcane Missiles no longer check line of sight for every missile — only once at the start of the channel. A target that leaves line of sight during the cast no longer interrupts the missiles.

FireFire

  • The duration of Game iconFiery Trail has been increased to 30 sec. (was 20 sec.).
Developers' NotesBlizzard
Game iconFiery Trail was hard to use while leveling because the Mage had to recover mana between fights. The increased duration should smooth that out.
  • The duration of Game iconLucky Streak has been increased to 20 sec. (was 15 sec.).
  • Game iconIgnite no longer counts damage-increase modifiers twice.
Paladin

Paladin

  • Game iconRetribution Aura now dynamically recalculates its values based on the spell power of the caster who applied it.
  • Fixed a bug where the Game iconFlash of Light animation did not play at the end of the cast.
  • Fixed various issues with Game iconConsecration.
  • Fixed a bug where Game iconConsecration did not apply its increased damage to some targets.
  • Fixed a bug with incorrect behavior along the vertical axis.
  • Fixed a bug where Game iconConsecration could pull in targets above or below the caster.
  • The weapon damage of Game iconHoly Strike by rank has been changed to 25%/29%/32%/36%/39%/43%/46%/50% (was 25%/25%/30%/30%/35%/35%/40%/40%).
Developers' NotesBlizzard
This increases the damage of Game iconHoly Strike at every stage of leveling and boosts its contribution to the rotation. The early ranks did not always feel like an upgrade when purchased, and we have fixed that.
  • Fixed an Echo of Justice bug where the talent triggered more often than intended.
  • Game iconRighteous Fury — the threat bonus from Holy-school abilities has been reduced to 60% (was 90%).

HolyHoly

Developers' NotesBlizzard
Sometimes talents feel mandatory — like Ruthless Strikes for the Rogue. But a talent that so early in the healing tree reduces the cooldown of a baseline ability felt exactly like that, so we removed it and made its effect baseline.
  • The Game iconLight's Vigil tooltip has been reworked: it is now clearer that only damage returns mana.
  • Game iconHoly Might now increases the critical strike chance of Game iconHoly Strike by 15% and keeps all of its previous effects.

RetributionRetribution

Priest

Priest

Gnomes

  • Game iconBackup Plan can now deal critical heals.
  • Game iconDazing Flash now has a cast animation. Its visuals are now closer to the Holy school than to Arcane magic, and its sounds have been updated to match.

Night Elves

Forsaken

  • Game iconDark Sacrifice no longer removes crowd-control effects that are broken by damage.
  • The Game iconDark Sacrifice tooltip now correctly states that the amount of mana gained depends on Spirit.
Rogue

Rogue

  • Game iconSap now correctly flags the rogue for PvP when used on a PvP-flagged target.
Shaman

Shaman

ElementalElemental

Developers' NotesBlizzard
A critical-damage boost early in the tree works well for other specs, but not for the main one: at low levels it has too little critical strike chance for that to feel meaningful. So we moved one of the talents important for Shaman (Elemental) higher up the tree, so that leveling feels like a series of meaningful steps — exactly what the spec lacked at early levels. We understand this affects the spell critical damage of Shaman (Enhancement), but we will use the freed-up spot to give it something in return later.
  • The damage of Game iconLava Burst ranks 1 and 2 has been increased: it is now roughly 10% higher than the base damage of the Game iconLightning Bolt rank learned at about the same level.

EnhancementEnhancement

  • Game iconSeer's Fury (row 7) no longer increases spell cast speed.
Developers' NotesBlizzard
Cast speed was not needed for this ability's core function, so we removed it.

RestorationRestoration

  • Game iconRapids can now deal critical heals.
Warlock

Warlock

  • The Game iconLife Tap tooltip now correctly shows the amount of health converted and lists only the Spirit dependency.
  • The Voidwalker's Game iconSacrifice now correctly scales from 10% of the caster's healing power.
Warrior

Warrior

  • Game iconSunder Armor — threat values have been fixed at all ranks, including a slight increase to threat from attack power.

ProtectionProtection

Developers' NotesBlizzard
We wanted to grant Game iconFocused Rage earlier to smooth out leveling, instead of the extra damage from Game iconBastion. This should make leveling in the Protection tree easier until you get Game iconShield Slam.

ArmsArms

Races

Gnomes

Game iconEureka! now grants all classes a 10% discount on abilities that cost mana, rage, or energy.

Humans

The visual effect of Game iconWill to Live has been replaced: it now matches Game iconDispel Magic rather than Game iconWill of the Forsaken.

Tauren

Game iconCultivation now requires a certain character level for each herb. The required level equals the Herbalism level needed to gather the herb, divided by 5. Herbs that require more than 300 Herbalism to gather can be cultivated from level 60.

Forsaken

Game iconGrave Touch no longer removes crowd-control effects and no longer triggers from spells and abilities that deal no damage.

Developers' NotesBlizzard
This means Game iconShadow Word: Pain triggers the effect on application but not from its periodic damage. Game iconDistract does not trigger it, so you cannot break a Rogue or Druid out of stealth this way, nor through pickpocketing. Game iconPolymorph was already not interrupted by Game iconGrave Touch before, and now it does not trigger it either.

Recovery Manager

The Recovery Manager in World of Warcraft: Forever is meant to help you in combat: it pulls important information from the buff bar and the action bar and displays it wherever is convenient for you. It is off by default — enable it in the settings, under the gameplay-improvements section.

Druid, Mage, Priest, Warrior, and Warlock are available for testing. The remaining classes will be added in future updates.

Right now the most important feedback for the developers is on one question: which spells you would like to see tracked by default.

The manager does not yet support spell ranks — this will be fixed in one of the upcoming beta updates.

Gamepad Support

Class flyout menus have been added to the action bar.

  • A shapeshift menu for the Druid.
  • A pet-control and pet-abilities menu for the Hunter and Warlock.
  • An aura menu for the Paladin.
  • A stance menu for the Warrior.

The pet bar no longer replaces the bottom gamepad action bar for the Hunter and Warlock.

New settings have been added to the “Gamepad (Alpha)” section.

  • Compact action bar — shows only the currently active bar.
  • Fixed party targeting — in a non-raid group, each D-pad button is bound to a specific member instead of navigating the party UI.
  • Swap target modifier sides — swaps the modifiers for selecting allies and enemies.
  • Swap ally-target action sides — swaps the D-pad and face-button actions when an ally is selected.
  • Swap hostile-target action sides — the same for selecting an enemy.

Fixed a bug where Edit Mode layouts were not applied while the gamepad UI was enabled.

Updated the map and quest-log bindings, and map pins now have tooltips.

Updated support for compact raid frames and the role-poll window.

Items

Some guns and bows did not consume ammunition — fixed.

The rewards of several quests have been updated: they now have the correct item level.

A small number of early caster rewards have been adjusted.

Mage oils have been returned to their Classic values: Minor Mana Oil grants 8 spell power, Lesser 16, and regular 24. Brilliant Mana Oil is unchanged.

Wands no longer gain extra damage from the wielder's spell power.

Quests

Fixed a bug where several dungeon quests could be handed to another player, who would then receive the quest item.

Dalaran — faction fixes. There are now spawns at the city entrance.

Dun Morogh — the snow leopard hunter respawns noticeably faster.

Dun Morogh — fixed a bug where some players could not pick up the gun for the “Treacherous Cold” quest.

Durotar — reduced the respawn time of the escorted NPC for the “Lost in the Dark” quest.

Elwynn Forest — the “Returning the Book” quest now correctly removes the extra bag of books from your inventory after turn-in.

Elwynn Forest — increased the number of crates for the “Stolen Enchanter's Supplies” quest.

Elwynn Forest — the murloc camps by Crystal Lake respawn faster.

Elwynn Forest — Mother Fang respawns a little slower and no longer always drops a green item.

Elwynn Forest — Narf Glimmer respawns faster, and the quest item can now be picked up by all party members.

Elwynn Forest — Nimsy respawns faster.

Elwynn Forest — skinning from Helena the Furrier can now be learned even if you have her quest.

Elwynn Forest — the Jasperlode and Fargodeep mines turned out to be more dangerous than intended for solo players, so their candles have been removed.

Mulgore — the water jugs respawn faster for the “A Humble Request” quest.

Silithus — Honsu's arrival has been removed from the beta and will return to Azeroth later.

Silverpine Forest — the worgen in Pyrewood Village respawn faster.

Teldrassil — the number of targets for the “Bounty: Gnarlpine Furbolgs” quest has been reduced to 15 (was 20).

Undercity — the Skyborne quest “Meeting the Horde” now counts talking to Lady Sylvanas Windrunner.

Westfall — increased the spawn frequency of the Defias Brotherhood herald.

Zephris Isle — the Skyborne quest “Catching the Wind” has been reworked, and the spawns at the Watch Stones in the Shen'dar Highlands have been changed.

Zephris Isle — the druids in Nightclaw Cave now correctly count progress for the “Wounds of Betrayal” quest.

Zephris Isle — the “A Firm Response” quest no longer loses player progress.

Interface

Updated the display of status-indicator selection.

Updated the textures of the personal resource indicator.

Known Issues

Corruptions and curses are not tracked correctly if you drop the target and then reselect a target that already has the effect applied.

The cooldown of Game iconHealthstone is not tracked.

For the Priest, all spells are tracked by default.

Game iconArcane Flare is not tracked.

The Mana Stone needs an additional cast of any spell for its cooldown timer to start correctly.

Creating a group or changing its composition may move players to a different game world. The developers are working on improvements.

Pet ability cooldowns are not tracked.

Item enhancements (such as windfury or rogue poisons) are not tracked.

The minimap in Stormwind has display issues — these will be fixed in the next build.

The personal resource indicator does not show combo streaks.
