Wyrmtongue Spiteblade is a one-handed dagger of uncommon quality, added in the Legion expansion (patch 7.0.3). Visually it is a short, curved blade with a dark hilt and a slightly serrated edge — a model in the spirit of the crude wyrmtongue forging on the Broken Shore. It suits transmog for any class that uses daggers: rogue, shaman, druid, hunter, warlock, priest and monk.
The item appeals not through its stats (they only matter for scaling to your character's level) but through its accessibility: you can get it solo in one or two trips to the Broken Shore, with no raids or dungeons.

The blade drops from wyrmtongue caches on the Broken Shore — a zone that opened in patch 7.2 of the Legion expansion. Access to the zone unlocks after a short introductory Armies of Legionfall campaign from Dalaran.
Main drop sources:
- Hidden Wyrmtongue Cache — small chests scattered out in the open all across the Broken Shore. They open without a key.
- Curious Wyrmtongue Cache — large chests in the "Hidden Vault" (a cave on the shore). They are opened with the
Wyrmtongue's Cache Key, sold by Treasure Master Iks'reeged for Nethershards. - The world quest Relieved of Their Valuables — a weekly chain to gather three hidden caches, with a guaranteed shot at an extra drop on turn-in.
The item binds when picked up, so you cannot pass it to an alt — you have to farm with the character you want the transmog for. Each chest drops one to three random pieces of gear, and the chance of this specific dagger is around 1–2% per opening.
Who it suits visually
- Dark rogue sets with a "shadow assassin" accent — the short blade does not pull attention away from the rest of the outfit.
- Druid and hunter sets in the green-and-brown Legion palette — the hilt echoes the leather sets of the Broken Shore.
- Light wyrmtongue and nomadic-demon themes — the blade reads logically as a trophy rather than a costly weapon.
- Paired daggers: it works as a second blade alongside a larger model in the main hand, without duplicating it.
Tips
Open caches at max level — the item scales and loses nothing in stats, but the farm is much faster when you do not have to fend off demons.
Take the world quest "Relieved of Their Valuables" first: its three caches count toward both the regular farm and Armies of Legionfall reputation.
Flying on the Broken Shore sharply speeds up gathering — if you have "Defender of the Broken Isles" unlocked, spend your time on a route between chest spawn points rather than running.
If the zone is crowded, switch from "Heroic" to "Normal" difficulty: less competition for shared spawn points.
For targeted farming of large chests, stockpile Nethershards and buy the Wyrmtongue's Cache Key from Treasure Master Iks'reeged — large chests give gear more often.
When farming on a rogue, use "Stealth" and slip past elite demons: you only need the chests, not experience points.
It is most convenient to farm on classes with self-healing and mobility — druid, paladin, demon hunter — they spend less time recovering between points.
