Antumbra, Shadow of the Cosmos — Transmog Set Guide

Antumbra, Shadow of the Cosmos is an epic one-handed dagger added to World of Warcraft in the Shadowlands expansion with patch 9.2, "Eternity's End." Statistically it is a caster weapon: the blade grants Intellect and Stamina, so in combat it is wielded by mages, warlocks, priests, shamans and druids. Beyond the rankings, however, the dagger is prized above all for its looks.

The model leans into a starry, astronomical theme: a thin dark blade through which the night sky seems to shine, topped with a pommel resembling a tiny constellation. The silhouette almost literally echoes Starshard Edge — the legendary-status dagger of Algalon the Observer from Ulduar. Antumbra is its Shadowlands-era successor: the same "a piece of the cosmos in your hand" concept, reimagined in the palette of the Shadowlands.

Antumbra can be obtained only one way — it drops from a raid boss. This is a classic raid drop, with no option to buy or craft it.

• The drop source is Rygelon, the tenth and second-to-last boss of the Sepulcher of the First Ones raid.
• The raid belongs to the Shadowlands expansion and sits on a floating island east of the Zereth Mortis zone.
• The dagger drops on every raid difficulty: Raid Finder, Normal, Heroic and Mythic. The appearance is identical across all versions — for the transmog collection, killing Rygelon on any difficulty is enough.
• The chance to receive it from a single kill is roughly 26–27%. That is a high figure for a raid weapon, because Rygelon's loot table is small.
• The attempt limit is one Rygelon kill per character per week on each difficulty. To improve your odds, run the boss with several characters or across several difficulties within a single week.

How to reach the raid: travel to the Zereth Mortis zone, make your way to the "Pilgrim's Grace" point and use the ancient translocator, which teleports you straight to the raid island. Once flying is unlocked in Zereth Mortis, you can fly directly to the entrance.

In the current Midnight expansion, the Sepulcher of the First Ones can be cleared by a small group or solo on a character with a comfortable item-level buffer. Most bosses up through Heroic go down with ease, but a few encounters with heavy mechanics can drag out solo — for those, it is more convenient to bring two or three players.

Antumbra has no direct in-game recolors — it is a unique Rygelon model.

If you specifically want this "starry" blade silhouette, Starshard Edge is the closest relative: Antumbra was designed as a direct visual callback to it. Algalon's dagger drops solo from the old Ulduar raid and is noticeably easier to farm than a Shadowlands-era raid drop.

• Cosmic and starry-themed looks: the dark blade with a "sky inside" complements sets built around constellation, eclipse and void motifs.
• Caster-class sets from the Sepulcher of the First Ones — the dagger is built in the same palette as the mage and priest raid gear from that instance.
• Dark looks with cold accents: the blade's purple-blue glow contrasts with black cloth armor and reads well at a distance.
• "Stargazer" or "astrologer" concepts: a matched pair of two such daggers on a rogue or an enchanter reinforces the astronomical theme.
• For light outfits the dagger provides a deliberate contrast — a debatable but expressive pairing for looks themed around the struggle of light and darkness.
