Astral Aspirant's Staff is a two-handed staff from the entry-level PvP set of The War Within expansion. It is a weapon from the "aspirant" set — the starting tier of the season's PvP gear that players buy with Honor to step onto the arena and battlegrounds. The model is kept in a cold astral palette with blue and turquoise shimmers along the head, echoing the cosmic theme of the seasonal PvP rewards.
In terms of stats it is an Intellect staff, so it is wielded in combat by specializations using that stat. The base item level is low, but when entering PvP zones the weapon scales: its tooltip states that on arenas, battlegrounds and in War Mode the item level is raised to at least 717. For transmogrification, however, only the model and the fact of obtaining the item matter, not its combat values.
The staff is sold for Honor by the Honor vendor Velerd in the capital of Khaz Algar — the city of Dornogal. Velerd stands in the city's PvP quarter next to the other PvP reward vendors, roughly at /way 55 76.
Along with the weapon, the aspirant set includes a full set of armor, which Velerd also sells. Collecting any full PvP armor set of The War Within season unlocks the achievement Astral Attire — keep in mind that equipped pieces of the set become non-refundable.
The fastest way to save up Honor for the staff is regular battlegrounds: a win grants Honor noticeably faster than a loss.
The two-handed staff will cost 1750 Honor, so estimate in advance how many matches you need to play before the purchase.
For the appearance it is enough to buy the staff once with any suitable Intellect specialization — once obtained, the model is unlocked in your collection.
Before buying the full aspirant set, remember: equipped pieces become non-refundable, so take only what you definitely need.
If you are working on the Astral Attire achievement, buy the full season armor set rather than separate slots from different sets.
Buy the weapon while the PvP season is active: when the season changes, the Honor vendor's stock is refreshed, and the aspirant set gives way to a new one.
