Biting Gutsliver Shank is an epic one-handed dagger added to World of Warcraft with the Shadowlands expansion. It is a short stabbing weapon in the style of Maldraxxus: a dark bone blade with carved serrated edges and a coarse handle wrap, finished in the signature greenish-grey palette of the Necrolord covenant. In model and silhouette it matches the "gutsliver" dagger line of House of Plagues — meaning it fits perfectly into sets that evoke the plague alchemists and surgeons of Maldraxxus.
The item belongs to the category of covenant reward transmogs: its stats are already irrelevant, and its value is purely cosmetic. It binds on pickup, and the dagger is available to any character of the proper covenant regardless of class and specialization.
The dagger is sold directly by the Necrolord covenant vendor inside their sanctum.
Anima accumulates from everyday activities in the Shadowlands: covenant quests, the anima conductor in the sanctum, command table missions, weekly zone tasks. Grateful Offerings drop from covenant quests, command table missions, and from leveling up companions.
The dagger is part of the family of Maldraxxus appearance daggers. Slayer Araya offers a full recolor of the same silhouette in the same display case, while a more "eye-catching" variant with a green gem is sold by a separate vendor at the same sanctum at a high renown level.

If you need a similar silhouette without a covenant binding, take a look at the earlier dagger
Bonefused Shank — it uses the same base model, but without the characteristic Necrolord tints.
Before buying, make sure your character has a stock of Reservoir Anima in the sanctum: 3500 units is roughly two to three weeks of everyday covenant quests on a single character.
Grateful Offerings are easiest to gather through command table missions: over a week you reliably get 20-40 offerings there.
Renown level 9 is reached fairly quickly through the main covenant campaign — even without participating in current content, it is enough to play through the Necrolord story up to the corresponding chapter.
If you already play for another covenant, to buy this appearance you will have to switch to the Necrolords and wait out a week of the "return penalty." On alts it is more convenient: you can pick the Necrolords right away when choosing your covenant.
On a single trip to Slayer Araya it makes sense to buy the entire dagger set you are interested in at once: the vendor trades all recolors of the line, and a second visit for the same resource usually takes longer than it seems.
The appearance unlocks in your transmog collection after obtaining the item — selling it back to the vendor after unlocking makes no sense, but you don't have to keep it in your bags either.
For dual-wielding two daggers in a rogue set, the easiest way is to first buy the Biting Gutsliver Shank, and the following week a recolor of the same silhouette: they are visually identical and read exactly as a pair.
