Overview

Черная металлическая секира

Game iconBlack Metal War Axe is a two-handed axe from the early classic zones of World of Warcraft. It is a simple yet striking weapon: a wide, dark blade of blackened metal on a short haft. Its understated, grim silhouette makes the axe an excellent foundation for brutal low-level looks — no flashy glow or excess detail, just dark steel.

For transmogrification, only the appearance matters: the item level here is 11, and it has long been useless in combat. The two-handed axe is available for transmog to warriors, paladins, hunters, shamans, and death knights.

Source

The Black Metal War Axe is a green item that is bind on equip, so it can be freely bought and sold. This makes the auction house the fastest way to get the axe: simply search for it by name and buy a ready-made copy.

If you prefer to farm the axe yourself, it drops from undead in Duskwood. The main source is the Plague Spreader, an undead creature that wanders the northwestern part of the zone, roughly around the points /way #10 15.6 36.6 and /way #10 17.4 33.4. The drop chance is low — around 0.1% — so do not count on a quick drop.

Since there is no bind on pickup, the axe can be farmed by any character and then sent to the hero you need via mail or the auction house. This is convenient if a leveling alt is doing the farming while the look is needed on your main character.

Who It Suits Visually

  • It harmonizes with dark leather and mail armor in earthy and charcoal tones — the look of a grim mercenary or bandit.
  • It fits "barbarian" and savage low-level concepts where crude, no-frills weaponry is valued.
  • It contrasts with light and gilded armor — the dark blade stands out sharply against ceremonial sets.
  • It looks great in minimalist outfits without bright glow, where the focus is on shape rather than effects.

Tips

1

First check the auction house: green items are often listed cheaply, and this will save you hours of farming.

2

If you decide to farm, focus on the undead in the northwestern part of Duskwood — that is where the plague spreaders are concentrated.

3

The drop chance is very low, so farming makes sense to combine with leveling a character in the same zone.

4

At modern max level, enemies in Duskwood are killed instantly, so clearing the spawn points goes quickly.

5

The item is not bind on pickup — an alt can farm it and then send it to your main character by mail.

6

It is most convenient to farm on a class with area-of-effect damage: plague spreaders stand in groups, so you cycle through their drop attempts faster.
