Started playing back in Pandaria, when the pandaren were still a novelty. Got stuck on Monk because it's the only class where you don't get dizzy after a dash. Tries to manage both tanking and kicking enemies in the face.

Blackout Truncheon is a one-handed crushing mace from The Burning Crusade expansion. It is a massive dark cudgel: a purple-and-steel head on a long haft, wrapped in a faint black glow. The weapon suits any class that wields one-handed maces — warriors, paladins, shamans, priests, druids, and rogues.
Its main visual feature is the weapon's natural black glow. Among low-level items, such an aura is rare and reads as a soft shadow halo, which is why the mace is often chosen for grim looks.
The heroic version has item level 33 and, on hit, can trigger the
Blinding Speed effect, briefly boosting attack speed. For transmogrification, the combat stats don't matter — only the appearance is valued.
Blackout Truncheon drops from Grandmaster Vorpil — the third boss of the Shadow Labyrinth dungeon. This is the southern wing of Auchindoun in the Terokkar Forest zone, in the Outland region.
/way 39 71 in Terokkar Forest.Set heroic difficulty before entering — normal mode gives a different model version.
Vorpil is the third boss of four; two come before him, but at max level the whole dungeon is cleared in a couple of minutes.
The dungeon entry limit is about 10 per hour and 30 per day; between attempts, reset the dungeon through the group menu.
The appearance unlocks account-wide, so any character can farm it, not just the one you plan to carry the mace on.
In the same run, the Blackout Truncheon's counterpart drops from the final boss Murmur — grab both appearances in one go.
The Blinding Speed effect and the two gem sockets are irrelevant for transmog — focus only on the looks.
