Overview

Bladed Rootwarden's Stave

Game iconBladed Rootwarden's Stave is a two-handed agility staff added to World of Warcraft with the Midnight expansion. It is a weapon from the dungeon set of The Blinding Vale, located in the underground thicket of Harandar. The staff's silhouette stays true to the zone's natural aesthetic: woody blade-roots intertwine at the head, hence the name — a nod to the rootwardens who guarded the Lightbloom.

In terms of stats, this is an item-level 237 weapon with agility, stamina, and secondary stats, intended for specializations that wield agility staves: druids, hunters, and monks. For transmog, however, what matters is not the numbers but the model — the recognizable "root" look that pulls the entire Blinding Vale leather set together.

Source

The staff drops in The Blinding Vale dungeon — a four-boss instance that opened in Midnight. The entrance sits in the southwestern part of Harandar, among the Lightbloom thickets.

  • The dungeon is available on difficulties from Normal up to base Mythic. The level range is 80–90, and 90 on the heroic version.
  • You can get the drop either in a group or while clearing solo: Midnight content is tuned for the current level, but at item level 237 the staff is farmed without much trouble by a prepared character.
  • There is no limit on the number of attempts — you can rerun the dungeon as many times as it takes for the desired model to drop.

The weapon's name is tied to the boss Lightwarden Ruia: once an elder rootwarden, he reached for the Lightbloom's power after failing to subdue it and turned that power against his own kin. It was his story that cemented the "root" look for this model.

Who It Suits Visually

  • It pairs with the tracker leather set from The Blinding Vale — for example, with the helmet Game iconVerdant Tracker's Guise. This is the "native" combination: weapon and armor are made in the same palette.
  • It harmonizes with green, woody, and druidic looks — the staff fits organically into concepts centered on nature, bark, and foliage.
  • It contrasts with dark and metallic sets — against plate armor the "root" staff stands out as a bright natural accent, though the color clash here is noticeable.
  • It works for ranger-hunter and feral-monk looks — the model is not visually tied to a class and reads equally well across agility specializations.

Tips

1

Before the run, make sure you have selected an agility specialization: the drop is geared toward druids, hunters, and monks, and the staff you want drops specifically for those classes.

2

If you are assembling the full look, clear The Blinding Vale "in one loop" — in a single run you can secure both the weapon and the leather pieces of the tracker set.

3

The dungeon can be rerun without weekly limits, so farming comes down only to luck on the specific model dropping.

4

On heroic difficulty the item comes at a higher level, but the appearance is the same across all versions — a normal clear is enough for transmog.

5

An unlocked appearance is saved in the wardrobe forever and becomes available to all eligible characters on the account.

6

Keep free bag slots ready: the Blinding Vale set consists of several items, and they pile up over a series of runs.
