Get Blinkstrike
Overview

Blinkstrike is an epic one-handed sword added in The Burning Crusade expansion. Despite its modest item level, it has an expressive model that is eagerly used for transmog looks.
The blade is narrow and slightly curved, with a dark metallic stripe down the center and a bright cutting edge; the guard and hilt are done in a restrained gray-steel palette. The silhouette is clean and versatile — with no bulky decorations, which makes the sword a convenient base for the most varied sets.
The sword suits classes that use one-handed swords: warriors, paladins, death knights, demon hunters, rogues, and others. Since the item has no binding, it is easy to hand off to the character you need or buy on the auction house.
Source
The main listed source is the Phase Hound, an elite beast from Netherstorm in Outland. At the same time, the sword is a rare world drop and can drop from many creatures of the same era.
- Drop type: the one-handed sword drops as a rare random world drop.
- Binding: the item does not bind, so it can be bought on the auction house or handed to a character.
- Main source location: Netherstorm, the northern zone of Outland.
- The drop chance is low, and there is no specific guaranteed spot — it is a world drop lottery.
- Solo farming: at the current max level, any Outland mobs are killed instantly.
The simplest way to get the appearance is to check the auction house: because of the lack of binding, the sword shows up there regularly and usually costs little. If you prefer farming, kill Phase Hounds and other elite beasts of Netherstorm.
Who It Suits Visually
- It harmonizes with mail and plate sets in a gray-steel palette thanks to the blade's neutral coloring.
- It fits austere "knightly" and mercenary looks without extra decorations.
- It is versatile as a paired weapon: two such swords give a tidy symmetrical look for dual-wielding rogues or warriors.
- It looks good in minimalist sets where the emphasis is on the armor rather than the weapon.
Tips
Check the auction house first: the sword does not bind and is often sold there for less than the time spent farming is worth.
For targeted farming, kill Phase Hounds in Netherstorm and other elite beasts of Outland.
At the current max level, all Outland content is cleared solo instantly; no healer or group is needed.
Since this is a world drop, there is no guaranteed spot — set aside extra time for farming or rely on the auction house.
The appearance unlocks in your transmogrification collection right after you obtain the item, even if you do not equip it.
By buying the sword on one character, you unlock the appearance for the whole account, so there is no need to farm again on other classes.
