Overview

Кровавая боевая перчатка

Game iconBloodfist is a one-handed fist weapon that players have known since the days of classic World of Warcraft. It is neither a blade nor a mace, but a spiked combat gauntlet: the model resembles a heavy plate glove worn over the fist, which makes the appearance rare and instantly recognizable among ordinary swords and daggers.

The epoch version of the item belongs to the timewalking mode and has an item level of 83. Visually it perfectly replicates the classic original: dark metal with a reddish sheen and the aggressive silhouette of a "fist" weapon. Fist weapons are used by rogues, shamans, monks, demon hunters, and warriors, so the appearance is in demand among fans of melee-focused looks.

The main value of the item is the model itself: a fist weapon appearance is uncommon, and this variant is also tied to one of the most atmospheric dungeons of the early game.

Source

The epoch "Bloodfist" drops from one and the same creature in the Blackrock Depths dungeon, which becomes available in timewalking mode.

  • The drop source is Phalanx, an elemental guardian of the bar deep within Blackrock Mountain.
  • The epoch version drops with a chance of around 3.7% per run.
  • The dungeon is cleared by a small group; in timewalking mode the level and stats are scaled to the event.
  • Phalanx is initially peaceful and only turns hostile after a specific sequence of events in the bar, so you have to deliberately "reach" him (by getting one of the dwarves drunk) rather than simply run past.
  • The appearance binds to the character on acquisition, but after the first acquisition it becomes available for transmog on all characters of the account through the appearance collection.

If timewalking for the relevant expansion is currently inactive, the same appearance can be obtained from the classic version of the dungeon — see the "Alternatives" section.

Who It Suits Visually

  • Ideal for melee looks of a rogue, monk, or demon hunter, where a fist weapon reinforces the "street" silhouette.
  • The dark-red palette harmonizes with dwarven and orcish sets in earthy, bloody tones.
  • Suits the concept of a fist-fighter and underground brawler thanks to the "glove" silhouette instead of the usual blade.
  • It contrasts with light cloth looks, betting on a rough, brutal presentation.

Tips

1

The most reliable path to the appearance is the normal Blackrock Depths: the drop chance there is almost seven times higher than in the epoch version.

2

For Phalanx to become hostile at all, you need to trigger the scenario in the dungeon's bar rather than just run up to the mob — without this the boss won't attack or drop loot.

3

It makes sense to farm the epoch version only when the timewalking of the corresponding expansion is active.

4

The dungeon is easily soloed at the current maximum level on normal difficulty, which is convenient for repeated farming.

5

The fist weapon can be worn as a pair — if you collect two copies of the appearance, you get a symmetrical "two-handed" look of a fist fighter.

6

After the first acquisition the appearance stays in the collection forever, so there is no need to keep the item itself in your bags.

Started playing back in Pandaria, when the pandaren were still a novelty. Got stuck on Monk because it's the only class where you don't get dizzy after a dash. Tries to manage both tanking and kicking enemies in the face.
