Overview

Кромка костяного разорителя

Game iconBonereaver's Edge is an epic-quality two-handed sword originating from the classic era of World of Warcraft. It is one of the most recognizable blades of the Molten Core raid: a massive blade with a serrated edge and bony spikes running along the spine, finished in a cold gray-steel palette with a slight bone tint. The silhouette is rough and predatory, with no fiery effects, so the sword looks great in dark, "necromantic," and martial outfits.

The sword carries an effect that increases your critical strike chance on hit — an echo of the days when Bonereaver's Edge was considered one of the best two-handers for warriors and paladins. Today the item is valued primarily as a transmog: the model was never reused in later expansions and remains rare on servers.

Source

The sword drops from the final boss of the Molten Core raid — Ragnaros. The raid itself lies deep within Molten Core, whose entrance is located at the bottom of Blackrock Mountain on the side of the Burning Steppes zone.

  • Source: Molten Core raid, boss Ragnaros.
  • Drop chance is around 5.6%, which makes the sword a relatively rare drop.
  • Farming is done solo: a current-level character kills Ragnaros with ease, and no separate healer or group is needed.
  • There are no class restrictions on looting it — any character can take the item for the appearance collection.
  • The boss respawns once a week, so if you are unlucky you will have to enter the raid each new week.

Who It Suits Visually

  • It harmonizes with heavy plate sets in gray-steel and dark tones — for example, with classic-era warrior tier sets.
  • It works well for "bony" and necromantic looks thanks to the spikes and the pale tint of the blade.
  • It contrasts with bright fiery armor — the blade stays a cold accent and does not blend into the flames.
  • It fits brutal orcish and undead concepts where you want rough, utilitarian steel without decorative effects.

Tips

1

The fastest way to farm is to enter Molten Core solo on a current-level character and kill Ragnaros directly.

2

In a single visit you can also collect another appearance from this same boss — go in for several transmogs at once.

3

Remember the weekly reset: loot from Ragnaros refreshes once a week, so you cannot bank up attempts.

4

The path to the boss passes through several raid bosses, but solo they pose no threat and are cleared along the way in a couple of minutes.

5

If the sword does not drop, do not be discouraged: with a chance of around 5.6%, collecting it may take several weeks, which is normal for rare classic appearances.

6

The looted sword becomes soulbound immediately, so take it on the character whose account you want to unlock the appearance on.

Started playing back in Pandaria, when the pandaren were still a novelty. Got stuck on Monk because it's the only class where you don't get dizzy after a dash. Tries to manage both tanking and kicking enemies in the face.
