Cataclysm's Edge is an epic-quality two-handed sword originating from The Burning Crusade expansion. It is a massive blade with a wide edge and a distinctive demonic silhouette, finished in dark steel tones. The model is easy to recognize among two-handers of that era and is still valued by collectors for its imposing, "heavy" look.
The sword can be wielded by warriors, paladins, and death knights. Its stats are long outdated and have no combat value at max level, so today the item is interesting purely as a transmog: a striking two-handed weapon for looks built around the fight against the Burning Legion.
The sword drops from Archimonde — the fifth and final boss of the Hyjal Summit raid in the Caverns of Time.
Getting to the raid is simple. The entrance is in the Caverns of Time in Tanaris: head down the winding path, and the first portal on the right is Hyjal Summit, with its distinctive elven architecture and forest surroundings.
A quirk of the instance is waves of enemies instead of the usual "trash": to unlock access to the bosses, you have to fend off a series of attacks by the Legion and the Scourge. Solo, this takes time but poses no difficulty for a character with a large survivability buffer.
It is most convenient to farm on classes with good survivability and self-healing — for example, a death knight or paladin handles the waves without trouble.
Remember the weekly lock: Archimonde can only be killed once a week per character, so use several characters to speed up farming.
Before you reach Archimonde, you will have to fend off all the waves of attackers — budget a few minutes for this.
The roughly 17.6% chance is high but not guaranteed: be ready for several runs across different weeks.
Along with the same boss and throughout the raid, other The Burning Crusade transmog items drop — check all the loot, not just this sword.
No attunement is needed, so you can take alts straight into the raid without preparation and close out weekly attempts on several characters at once.
