Get Caustic Coldsteel Slicer
Overview

"Caustic Coldsteel Slicer" is an epic one-handed sword from the Dragonflight expansion. It is a blade in a cold blue-steel palette with an angular, "primal" silhouette: a broad blade with faceted edges and a massive guard styled after the weapons of the elemental defenders. The model fits the frosty theme of its source boss and reads well as an icy or elemental sword.
The item's stats have long been obsolete, so today it is farmed purely for its appearance. The sword is equally at home in martial looks for a warrior or death knight and in cold "winter" ensembles.
Source
The sword drops in a raid rather than being bought from vendors. Its source is the Vault of the Incarnates raid from Dragonflight.
- The source boss is Sennarth, a huge spider-like creature steeped in cold, located in the second part of the Vault of the Incarnates raid.
- The drop chance is high for raid loot — around 25%, so after a few runs the sword is almost guaranteed to end up in your spoils.
- Loot from the boss is available once per week on each difficulty, so it is worth killing Sennarth on several difficulty levels in a single week.
- The item is bound on pickup and cannot be traded on the auction house — you have to farm it yourself.
The raid is two-year-old content, so at the current level it can be cleared solo on almost any class. Sennarth himself goes down without any trouble alone — he has no blocking solo mechanics.
Who It Suits Visually
- It pairs with sets in a cold blue-silver palette — especially "icy" and elemental sets.
- It harmonizes with the plate sets of a Frost death knight thanks to its frosty coloring.
- It looks great in elemental-defender looks and shaman concepts because of the "primal" design of the guard.
- It contrasts with warm gold sets — a debatable but striking choice for a "cold blade" look in light attire.
Tips
Kill Sennarth on every available difficulty each week — this multiplies your chances at the drop without wasting extra time.
The farm is fast: at the current level the path to Sennarth is cleared in a couple of minutes even solo.
The sword cannot be traded, so count only on your personal farm — you cannot buy it from other players.
To unlock the appearance it is enough to obtain the item once; you do not even need to wield it.
Along with Sennarth and the neighboring bosses, the rest of the raid's weapon set drops too — in a single run you can collect several appearances in a matching palette.
If the drop does not come for several weeks in a row, do not despair: with a chance of around 25% the sword usually drops within three or four runs.
