Get Chains of Infectious Serrations

Chains of Infectious Serrations is an epic one-handed bludgeoning weapon in the Maw-flavored style of the Shadowlands. It is a massive iron-bound mace forged from dark metal: the haft and head are wrapped in chains and studded with spikes, while a sickly greenish glow runs along its edges, echoing the name.

The appearance belongs to the family of weapons used by the servants of the Maw that debuted in Zereth Mortis. The look fits classes in plate just as well as anyone who wields a bludgeoning weapon purely for transmog — the model reads equally grim in any hand.

The item was added in the Shadowlands expansion (patch 9.2). Today it is valuable solely as transmog: its combat stats are long outdated, and it is farmed only for the appearance.

The mace drops from a rare mob in the open world rather than from a dungeon or raid.

• The source is the rare mob Iska, Outrider of Ruin, who appears in a sand vortex in the central part of northern Zereth Mortis, roughly at coordinates 63.9, 25.4.
• The drop chance for the appearance is about 1.15%, so the farm can stretch over many attempts.
• Iska is one of the rare mobs that spawn in turn within the vortex, mounted on a large beast; his appearance is relatively infrequent and you have to wait for him to show up.
• There is no attempt limit: the mob can be killed every time it appears, and the loot is not tied to a weekly lockout.
• At the current Midnight level, the mob poses no threat and is killed solo in a few hits.

• The sickly greenish glow and the dark metal of the chains suit "Maw" and necromantic looks — sets themed around the Maw and the servants of the Shadowlands.
• The mace looks great with plate in dark and venomous-green tones — for plague knight, dark paladin or necromancer outfits.
• The chains and spikes echo death knight ensembles and add a grim accent against clean, bright sets.
• Dual-wielding two maces from this family completes a cohesive Maw-themed look with no out-of-place details.
