Cold Iron Pick is a rare-quality two-handed axe originating from Classic World of Warcraft. By model it is not the usual battleaxe but a massive miner's pickaxe with two points on a rough wooden handle. The flavor text directly points to its dual purpose: "Also functions as a mining pick."

It is precisely the unconventional silhouette that makes the item a popular transmog: the pick is perfect for the look of an ore digger, miner, gnome engineer, or rugged laborer who has no need for a classic battleaxe. Despite its "two-handed axe" class, it looks like a genuine work tool.

The appearance is available to any class that uses two-handed axes. The item's stats have long been irrelevant — today the pick is valued purely as a transmog.

In the current game, the pick drops in The Stockade — a low-level dungeon located beneath the canals of Stormwind, in the Mage Quarter.

• The drop source is the dungeon's final boss, Hogger.
• The item binds when picked up, so it cannot be passed to another character — you have to farm it on whoever needs it.
• This is outdated content: the entire dungeon and Hogger himself can be soloed at max level instantly, without any threat.
• There is no attempt limit — you can re-enter the dungeon and kill the boss again and again within the standard instance reset cap.
• The easiest way to get there is on foot: the entrance to The Stockade is in Stormwind's Mage Quarter by the canals, or via the dungeon finder tool.

The pick has been known since Classic, where it dropped from skeleton miners near the Deadmines; in the current version of the game, Hogger in The Stockade has become the most reliable and fastest source.
