Overview

Порча

Game iconCorruption is a rare-quality two-handed sword from the classic era of World of Warcraft. It is a broad, heavy blade with a dark, sinister guard and a grim color scheme, styled after the weapons of the undead and the Scourge. The model perfectly conveys a "cursed" theme and fits well with the looks of death knights and dark warriors.

The sword can be wielded by classes that use two-handed swords: warriors, paladins and death knights. The item level is 13, it requires character level 22, and the weapon grants Strength and Stamina. Its stats are irrelevant for modern gameplay, so the value of Corruption today lies solely in its appearance for collection.

The main feature of this sword is the way it is obtained: it cannot be looted from a mob or bought from a vendor. Corruption is created by a blacksmith, and only by one who has chosen the narrow Swordsmith specialization, which makes the look fairly niche and less common among players.

Source

The sword is forged through the Game iconBlacksmithing profession at skill level 290. The recipe is available to blacksmiths who have chosen the Swordsmith specialization.

The recipe itself — Game iconPlans: Corruption — cannot be bought from a vendor. The plans are found in the Stratholme dungeon in the Eastern Plaguelands: blacksmithing plans lie on the floor there, and when you try to pick them up a guardian swordsman appears who must be defeated.

To assemble the finished sword you will need the following reagents:

The finished sword is bound on pickup, so the swordsmith blacksmith must craft it for themselves.

Who It Suits Visually

  • Perfectly complements the looks of death knights and dark warriors in black-purple and steel tones.
  • Harmonizes with plate sets themed around the Scourge and the undead.
  • Contrasts with bright "holy" sets — a deliberate touch for a fallen paladin look.
  • Thanks to its dark coloring, it serves as an expressive accent in grim sets and does not get lost against the armor.

Tips

1

The look is available only to blacksmiths with the Swordsmith specialization, so plan your profession leveling in advance if you want to craft the sword yourself.

2

The plans are found in Stratholme and appear on the floor — inspect the indicated spots carefully and be ready for a fight with the guardian swordsman.

3

The most expensive reagents are Thorium and Arcanite Bars: stock up on metal and ore in advance so you don't interrupt the crafting.

4

The content is outdated, and Stratholme can be soloed on any modern class with ease.

5

The look is added to your collection immediately upon obtaining the item; you do not need to equip the sword to unlock the transmog.

6

Since the finished sword is bound on pickup, it cannot be bought at the auction house — the only path to the look is through a swordsmith blacksmith.

Started playing back in Pandaria, when the pandaren were still a novelty. Got stuck on Monk because it's the only class where you don't get dizzy after a dash. Tries to manage both tanking and kicking enemies in the face.
