Crescent of Living Magma — Transmog Set Guide
Overview

Crescent of Living Magma is a two-handed axe from the Warlords of Draenor expansion. The blade is shaped like a crescent of red-hot, seemingly living stone: cracks spread across its surface, and an orange-red glow of molten magma shines through them.
The appearance perfectly captures the theme of Blackrock Foundry — the forge of the Iron Horde, where ore is infused with inner fire. The axe looks as if it was just pulled out of a smelting furnace, which is why it is prized in "fiery" and forge-themed looks. Despite being outdated content, this model remains one of the most striking among the two-handed axes of the Draenor era.
Source
The appearance is obtained in the Blackrock Foundry raid, located in the Gorgrond zone of Draenor. The axe drops from the Blackhand's Crucible encounter, where the main opponent is the Heart of the Mountain.
- The axe drops from the loot of the Blackhand's Crucible encounter on difficulties from Raid Finder to Mythic.
- The appearance is identical on all difficulties, so for your collection it is enough to kill the boss on the most accessible level.
- This is a random drop from the shared loot table, so there is no guaranteed drop.
- Personal loot from the encounter can be obtained once a week per character, so additional characters increase the number of attempts.
The raid belongs to the outdated Warlords of Draenor content and can be cleared solo with ease: a level 90 character in Midnight destroys the encounter's enemies in mere seconds. The main thing is to reach the third boss of the raid by clearing the previous fights of the Slagworks wing.
Visual Appeal
- Suits "fiery" and forge-themed armor sets with red and orange accents.
- Harmonizes with the plate sets of the Iron Horde and the orcish theme of Draenor.
- Looks great in warrior and death knight looks, where a massive blazing axe is needed.
- Creates a vivid contrast against dark armor, emphasizing the red-hot glow of the blade.
Tips
Enter the raid at level 90 in Midnight: the entire Blackrock Foundry is killed in one or two hits.
To reach the Blackhand's Crucible encounter faster, choose Raid Finder difficulty — it is the easiest to enter solo.
Bring additional characters into the farm: each one grants a separate weekly attempt at the drop.
It is most convenient to farm with classes that have high mobility and self-healing, so you don't waste time between groups of enemies.
The axe drops from the shared loot table, so another weapon may drop in a single run — check all the loot.
If the appearance doesn't drop for a long time, remember that there is no bad-luck protection for this drop, and keep running it in the following weeks.
