Dragonwrath, Tarecgosa's Rest — Transmog Set Guide

Dragonwrath, Tarecgosa's Rest is a legendary two-handed staff from the Cataclysm expansion, added alongside the Firelands raid in patch 4.2. It is a caster weapon, and it can only be wielded by the classes that completed the legendary quest chain: priests, shamans, mages, warlocks, and druids.

The staff's model is steeped in the palette of the blue dragonflight: a long shaft with frost-blue crystals, a ghostly glow, and a pommel shaped like a dragon's head. It is not just a weapon but a vessel for the soul of Tarecgosa, the blue dragon who gave herself to save Azeroth. Hence the staff's unique effects: "Tarecgosa's Rage," with a chance to duplicate a harmful spell, and "Tarecgosa's Visage," which transforms the wielder into a large blue dragon that can fly at maximum speed and ferry companions across the group.

From a transmogrification standpoint, this is one of the most recognizable legendary looks in the game. The appearance became available for transmog as of patch 8.3.0, but eligibility for it is still restricted to the same caster classes as the original quest chain.

The staff does not drop from a single boss — it comes from a long quest chain inside the Firelands raid, roughly a dozen and a half tasks. It once required a raiding guild and many weeks of gathering reagents; today the old raid is cleared solo, so the whole line can be completed alone, though not in a single run.

The main steps of the chain:

• The starter quest A Legendary Engagement is triggered after killing a special elite creature inside the Firelands raid. It sends you to the Caverns of Time to the dragon Anachronos.
• Next you need to gather the item Eternal Ember — it drops from Firelands raid bosses, several per kill.
• The chain leads you to the blue dragon Tarecgosa and to her guardian Kalecgos, around whom the entire lore of the line is built.
• At one of the stages you receive the staff-in-the-making Branch of Nordrassil, and then its empowered version, the Runestaff of Nordrassil.
• The next stage is gathering the Seething Cinder currency from raid bosses. Originally a thousand were required, and this was the longest part of the line.
• The finale is killing Ragnaros in the Firelands for the heart of flame and the concluding quest The Stuff of Legends, which awards the legendary staff.

Completing the chain also unlocks the pet Lil' Tarecgosa — a companion in the form of a tiny blue dragon.

You can obtain the look solo: the raid is long outdated, its bosses are killed alone, and the reagents have dropped far more generously ever since the Cataclysm era. The only restriction is that the appearance is available only to the listed caster classes.
