Dreadlord's Blade — Transmog Set Guide

Dreadlord's Blade is a two-handed sword added to World of Warcraft in the Wrath of the Lich King expansion. It is a massive, dark blade with a greenish demonic glow, styled after the nathrezim — the dreadlords of the Burning Legion. The dark steel, spiked guard, and otherworldly tint make it a recognizable choice for sinister and demonic looks.

For transmogrification, only appearance matters: its item level here is 34, and it has no use in modern combat. As a two-handed sword, its appearance is available to warriors, paladins, and death knights.

Dreadlord's Blade drops from the final boss of the heroic version of the Culling of Stratholme dungeon. This dungeon is tucked away in the Caverns of Time and belongs to the Wrath of the Lich King expansion.

The blade is obtained from Mal'Ganis — a nathrezim demon who concludes the storyline of Stratholme's fall. The fight takes place on the upper platform, roughly at the point /way #4100 32.5 45.9. The sword only drops on heroic difficulty, so switch the dungeon to heroic mode before entering.

If you manage to complete the run within the allotted time, an additional boss appears in the dungeon — the Infinite Corruptor — and after defeating Mal'Ganis the Dark Runed Chest opens up with bonus loot. The blade itself is not tied to the timer, but it is worth finishing within the limit for a quicker run — and you also get a chance at a mount reward for the event.
