Overview

Меч первого клинка

Edge of the First Blade is a one-handed sword appearance with a slender, elegant blade of elven craftsmanship. It is a narrow straight sword with an engraved crossguard, styled after the nightborne of Suramar. Despite occupying a dagger slot in its modern incarnation, it enters your collection as a one-handed sword, and it is precisely as a light, noble blade that it is valued in transmogrification.

This item is not a combat weapon but a separate illusion: when used, it adds the sword's appearance to your warband collection. That is why its item level is 1, and the item itself is warband-bound and available to every character on the account. The original model came from the Legion expansion and remains sought after by fans of refined elven weaponry.

Source

The appearance has two paths to obtain it — the original drop and a sale through an event vendor.

  • The original one-handed Edge of the First Blade drops from the boss Advisor Melandrus in the Court of Stars dungeon in Suramar.
  • The appearance version, as a separate collection item, is sold by Aridormi — the vendor for the "Timewalking: Legion" event.
  • Aridormi is located at Krasus' Landing in Dalaran above the Broken Isles and only trades during weeks when Legion Timewalking is active.
  • The purchase is made with Timewarped Badges, which you earn from dungeons and raids in Timewalking mode.
  • The appearance item is warband-bound, so it unlocks immediately for every character on the account.

If you missed the drop from Advisor Melandrus, a "Timewalking: Legion" week is the most reliable way to grab the appearance from Aridormi.

Who it suits visually

  • It harmonizes with light cloth and leather sets in the purple-and-silver palette of the nightborne.
  • It fits looks in the style of a noble elf, a duelist mage, or a Suramar court blade.
  • It contrasts with heavy plate armor — the elegant sword adds an unexpected, refined accent.
  • It complements sets with silver and lunar motifs thanks to the cold gleam of the blade.

Tips

1

If you plan to farm the original, keep the Court of Stars dungeon on your list: Advisor Melandrus is the final boss, and reaching him is quick.

2

During "Timewalking: Legion" weeks it is more efficient to stockpile Timewarped Badges so you can grab several appearances from Aridormi in a single run.

3

Since the appearance is warband-bound, unlocking it on one character is enough — it becomes available to the whole account.

4

This is an appearance illusion, not a weapon: you can use the item with any suitable blade without losing stats.

5

Combine Timewalking weeks with farming other Legion appearances — most of Aridormi's rewards are bought with the same currency.

6

The appearance is credited to the collection right after using the item; you do not need to hold it in your hands to unlock it.
