Overview

Клейменный углем цвайхандер

Game iconEmberbrand Zweihander is a two-handed sword added to World of Warcraft in The War Within expansion. The model is built around the massive, "earthy" silhouette of the Khaz Algar dungeons: a wide, straight blade with a dark, charred surface, glowing veins running along the edge, and a rough metal guard in a warm coal-orange palette.

This is a Strength weapon, so in combat it is wielded by melee classes that use two-handed swords — Warriors, Paladins, and Death Knights. As a transmog, the Zweihander is sought after for its "forge-and-fire" aesthetic: the glowing blade pairs well with blacksmith, infernal, and fire-themed looks, as well as with heavy plate sets.

Source

The sword is obtained in the Priory of the Sacred Flame dungeon — a The War Within dungeon in the Isle of Dorn area. The source of the appearance is the boss Prioress Murrpray.

  • The Zweihander drops directly from Prioress Murrpray with roughly a 4.27% chance per kill.
  • Originally the item was a reward for completing a Mythic+ key of level 12 and higher in the third season of The War Within, but in Midnight this is already legacy content.
  • The item becomes soulbound on pickup, so collect the appearance on the character that actually needs it.
  • At the level 90 cap the dungeon can be cleared solo on Mythic difficulty without a key, so the farm does not require a group.
  • There are no weekly limits on the farm itself: the dungeon can be reset back to back, killing the needed boss again and again.

The fastest method in Midnight is to set the dungeon to Mythic difficulty and run straight to Prioress Murrpray, killing her over and over until the appearance drops.

Who It Suits Visually

  • It harmonizes with plate sets in a dark-red and coal-orange palette — blacksmith and fire-warrior looks.
  • It fits infernal and demonic themes thanks to the glowing veins of the blade.
  • It works in dwarf and orc looks, where rough, massive, heavily forged weapons are prized.
  • It contrasts with cold blue-steel armor — a debatable but striking combination of heat and ice.
  • It serves as an accent in Death Knight and Vengeance Paladin sets, where the theme of flame and retribution matters.

Tips

1

Set the dungeon to Mythic difficulty: solo it is faster and requires no key, unlike Mythic+.

2

Run straight to Prioress Murrpray — you don't have to finish off the other dungeon bosses for this appearance.

3

The sword becomes soulbound on pickup, so farm it on the character that needs the appearance.

4

A chance of about 4.27% means a couple of dozen runs on average — set aside time for a series of attempts.

5

At the level 90 cap the dungeon can be soloed on most melee classes, which makes the farm fast and group-independent.

6

The weapon is interesting only as a transmog — its stats have long been obsolete, so don't waste time on its parameters.

7

If you are already rerunning the Priory of the Sacred Flame for other appearances, this one can drop along the way from the same boss.
