TBC Classic Enchanting Profession Guide (Phase 3)

Enchanting is the only profession that upgrades gear you are already wearing. Enchants for weapons, armor, and rings are always in demand, so an enchanter is never left without orders: before every raid night someone updates their gear and comes looking for enchants.

The profession's unique perk is enchanting your own rings, something no one else can do for you. It's a noticeable stat boost available only to enchanters. Materials are gathered by disenchanting unwanted gear, so the profession pairs well with Tailoring: stitch it, disenchant it, enchant it.

Ranks up to skill 300 are learned in the capital cities, while the master rank (300-375) is learned in Outland.

Enchanting is a profession with no finished product at the end: enchants vanish if you apply them to cheap gear. Keep a stack of the cheapest bracers, cloaks, and shields from the auction house on hand.

These are the very ring enchants available only to enchanters. Apply them to both of your rings — the stat boost stays with you for the entire expansion.

An enchanter's main income comes not from one-off orders but from oils and raid enchants. Superior Wizard Oil and Lesser Mana Oil are consumed constantly, and the most expensive enchant scrolls are bought before every gear update.

Collect rare recipes: some drop in Outland dungeons, and some are sold for reputation with the Shattrath factions. These are exactly what set apart the enchanter people come to for enchants from someone who merely maxed out the profession.
