Get Gavel of Lost Purpose

Gavel of Lost Purpose is not an ordinary weapon but a special illusion item for the appearance of a one-handed mace, added to World of Warcraft with the Zereth Mortis zone in the Shadowlands expansion. In the tooltip the item is flagged as a "Cosmetic Effect": its combat stats are nominal, and its entire value lies in its looks.

The model is styled after the machinery of the Primus and the other First Ones — the creators of the world: a glowing head with faceted inlays and a dark handle with golden trim. When used, the item adds this appearance to your warband's collection, after which the illusion can be applied to any suitable mace without needing to keep the item itself.

The Gavel of Lost Purpose drops from ordinary inhabitants of Zereth Mortis — a Shadowlands zone available from level 60. It is a rare world drop with no tie to a specific boss: the item can drop from a wide range of mobs across the entire zone.

• The farming zone is Zereth Mortis; you can reach it through the Shadowlands story campaign, which unlocks access to the area.
• The drop chance is extremely low — on the order of hundredths of a percent per mob, so the appearance is considered a long farm.
• Typical sources include the Mawsworn Striker, Mawsworn Herald and Mawsworn Inquisitor.
• The item also drops from the rare enemy Oracle Voraxxi, which can be killed once per day.
• Once applied, the illusion is bound to your warband's collection — there is no need to farm the item again on other characters.

• It suits sets in the style of the First Ones and the machinery of Zereth Mortis — the glowing head echoes armor of the same theme.
