Gholak, the Final Conflagration is a one-handed battle axe added to World of Warcraft in the Dragonflight expansion (patch 10.2.0) alongside the Amirdrassil, the Dream's Hope raid.
The model embraces the raid's signature aesthetic: a massive blade wreathed in the crimson-violet Shadowflame, with smoldering veins and a smoky halo. The axe is marked as "Defiled by Shadowflame" — the same dark corruption that runs through the weapons of Fyrakk the Blazing and is tied to his storyline.
The item carries a combat effect: your spells and abilities can awaken the corruption trapped within the weapon — 
Hungering Shadowflame, which deals extra damage to both you and the target, and against enemies above 90% health the damage increases by 400%. The effect is irrelevant for transmogrification, but it is exactly what makes the axe recognizable amid ordinary raid loot.

The axe drops in the Amirdrassil, the Dream's Hope raid from the final boss — Fyrakk.
- Drop source: Fyrakk the Blazing, the raid's last boss.
- Difficulties: Raid Finder, Normal, Heroic and Mythic — the appearance unlocks on any of them.
- The drop chance, according to Wowhead, is around 40%, meaning the axe drops frequently relative to Fyrakk's other loot.
- Limit — the weekly raid lockout: killing the boss counts once per week on each difficulty.
Amirdrassil is Dragonflight expansion content and can be cleared solo at max Midnight level. Until recently Fyrakk was an exception due to the Heart of Amirdrassil mechanic and the firebomb phases. After patch 12.0.5 this fight can finally be done alone: the Heart of Amirdrassil no longer takes damage during the encounter, and the summoned spirits provide healing regardless of your actions. This opened up convenient solo farming of the appearance on the higher difficulties.
Who It Suits Visually
- The crimson-violet Shadowflame makes the axe a natural choice for death knight and dark paladin looks.
- It pairs well with plate sets in a dark palette — black metal with violet and crimson accents.
- It fits "defiled" or "fallen" hero concepts thanks to the direct nod to Shadowflame corruption.
- It contrasts with bright golden armor — a divisive but striking combination where the axe works as a sinister accent.
- It looks great paired with a shield or a second weapon in a dark-fire palette, reinforcing the overall Shadowflame theme.
Tips
After patch 12.0.5 Fyrakk can be soloed, so farming the appearance is most convenient on your own, without forming a group.
The optimal classes for fast solo farming are death knight and protection paladin: high survivability lets you ignore the execute mechanics.
Remember the weekly lockout: on a single difficulty Fyrakk drops loot once per week, so to speed things up you can clear him on several difficulties at once.
The axe is a strength weapon, and it will only count toward your appearance collection if your class can equip it. Classes without access to one-handed strength axes will have to unlock the appearance on another character.
Despite the high drop chance, a single run may yield a different item — plan for several weeks of farming if you want the appearance guaranteed.
Enter the raid specifically at max Midnight level: at level 90 Amirdrassil scales in your favor and the fight goes quickly.
The axe's combat effect can damage you, but in solo farming of an old raid it is barely noticeable — your health pool more than covers the Shadowflame damage.
