Glazfuris, Scythe of the Deep Chill — Transmog Set Guide
Overview

Glazfuris, Scythe of the Deep Chill is a two-handed polearm with a purely cosmetic effect. Its item level is one, the scythe is account-bound, and it carries no combat stats: it simply adds an appearance to your account-wide transmogrification collection. The model is done in a frosty palette — the blade looks as though it was forged from ice and is wreathed in a cold blue glow.
The appearance was added in patch 11.1.7 of The War Within expansion as one of the rewards of the Midsummer Fire Festival. The scythe belongs to the family of icy weapons of the cold lord Ahune and echoes his style: deep blue color, frost, and sharp icy edges.
Source
Glazfuris drops during the seasonal Midsummer Fire Festival, which takes place every year in late June and early July.
- The drop source is the
Satchel of Chilled Goods, the reward bag for defeating the event boss. - The boss is Ahune, the Frost Lord, who is summoned in the The Slave Pens dungeon.
- The satchel can be obtained once per day per character; repeat runs on the same day do not award the bag.
- The chance of new appearances dropping grows with each day of the event: the more consecutive days you defeat Ahune, the higher the probability.
- The fight goes through the dungeon finder, the group is assembled automatically; Ahune himself is an elite elemental and is killed effortlessly at the current level.
Alternatives / recolors
The scythe has a paired appearance for classes that use staves and a thematic "relative" from the same event.
| Variant | Source | Wowhead |
|---|---|---|
| Staff for casters | Midsummer Fire Festival, patch 11.1.7 | |
| Classic reward from Ahune | Midsummer Fire Festival, previous years |
This appearance has no color recolors of its own: the frosty blue coloring is the only one.
Who it suits visually
- Fits into icy and frosty sets, for example death knight looks with a focus on cold.
- Pairs with white-and-blue armor sets and ensembles featuring frost, ice crystals, and a frosty glow.
- Looks great on classes that use polearms: druids, hunters, paladins, warriors, and monks.
- Contrasts with dark leather or plate armor, adding a bright cold accent.
- Supports the theme of winter looks and sets in the style of the frost lord.
Tips
Visit Ahune every day of the event: the chance for new appearances increases with each successive day.
The reward bag is granted only once per day per character — to speed up farming, defeat the boss on several characters on your account.
The appearance is account-bound, so you only need to obtain the scythe once: it will become available to all characters on your account.
If you need the caster variant, farm the paired staff "Glazfuris, Spire of the Deep Chill" from the same satchel.
The event lasts about two weeks, so plan your daily runs in advance to have time to raise the drop chance.
The fight with Ahune is short, and the dungeon finder queue fills quickly — this is one of the most convenient holiday bosses for farming appearances.
