Get Greatstaff of the Nexus

Greatstaff of the Nexus is a two-handed staff with a massive head of pale blue ice and arcane crystals set upon a twisted shaft. The bluish-turquoise palette and frosty glow point directly to the blue dragonflight and the magic of Malygos, lord of arcane magic. The model debuted in the Wrath of the Lich King expansion and remains one of the most recognizable "icy" staves of that era.

The Greatstaff of the Nexus drops in The Eye of Eternity raid — a small solo dungeon on a platform above the Coldarra island in the Borean Tundra zone. The only boss of the raid is Malygos, Aspect of the blue dragonflight.

• The staff can only be obtained in the 10-player raid format.
• After Malygos falls, a chest called Alexstrasza's Gift appears in the center of the arena — that is exactly where the loot is taken from.
• The loot is tied to the raid's weekly cooldown: one attempt per week per character.
• The Eye of Eternity is Wrath of the Lich King-level content, so it can be soloed with ease. The only tricky part of the fight is that in the third phase you are placed on Alexstrasza's red dragon, and Malygos must be finished off from the air — at low levels this can occasionally be confusing, but it poses no threat to a modern character.

The easiest way to reach the raid is through a teleport to the Coldarra island in the Borean Tundra: the entrance to The Eye of Eternity is on the same platform as the Nexus dungeon. Before the fight, make sure the difficulty is set to "10 player," otherwise the staff will not appear in Alexstrasza's Gift.
