Get Heavy Gnoll War Club
Overview

Heavy Gnoll War Club is a two-handed blunt mace of uncommon (green) quality that has been in the game since the days of classic Azeroth. It is a crude, knotted bludgeon with a massive head and a leather wrap on the handle — a simple tribal weapon in the gnoll style, with no magical effects or glow.
The model is rendered in a brown, woody palette and reads well from a distance thanks to its large striking head. The item level is 80, but in the modern game that value carries no practical weight: the piece is interesting purely as transmogrification material. Because of its plain "wooden" silhouette, the club is in demand among those who assemble primitive, barbaric, or druidic looks.
Source
The Heavy Gnoll War Club is a world drop from regular mobs in Redridge Mountains, the Alliance starting zone for levels 7-30. It drops from the gnolls of the local pack:
- Redridge Drudger — a regular gnoll of level 13-36, found in the northern part of the zone around map markers 17-21.
- Redridge Alpha — a stronger gnoll of level 17-30 that densely populates the central canyons of Redridge.
Key numbers:
- The drop chance is very low — about 0.07%, so do not count on a quick drop.
- The item becomes soulbound on equip, which means you cannot buy a ready-made club on the auction house — you will have to farm it yourself.
- There is no limit on the number of attempts: kill as many gnolls as you like until the model you need drops.
Redridge Mountains is an open zone with no prerequisites whatsoever, so you can reach it on any Alliance character straight from Elwynn Forest, while Horde players fly in through neutral hubs or portals.
Who It Suits Visually
- It fits barbaric and tribal looks well — for warriors and hunters role-playing a savage or a highway bandit.
- It harmonizes with leather and mail sets in earthy tones — browns, russets, and gray-greens.
- It suits druids in combat forms and shamans who want a "natural", unworked club without any metallic shine.
- It looks striking in the hands of a character in heavy plate — a debatable but memorable choice for a "brute force" image.
Tips
It is most convenient to farm on a level 30-40 character: gnolls die instantly, and you move quickly between their spawn points.
Focus on the central canyons, where gnoll density is highest — targets respawn there with almost no downtime.
Because of the extremely low chance (0.07%), plan for several farming runs; bring a movement-speed boost to gather the packs faster.
The same gnolls are visited for zone quests — combine your transmog farm with quests so no time is wasted.
Since the club is soulbound, farm it right away on the character you plan to wear the look on, or on any character — the appearance unlocks account-wide after the first acquisition anyway.
If collecting appearances is your main goal, check the transmogrification journal: you may already have a similar model, in which case the farm can be postponed.

Started playing back in Pandaria, when the pandaren were still a novelty. Got stuck on Monk because it's the only class where you don't get dizzy after a dash. Tries to manage both tanking and kicking enemies in the face.
