Icy Ebon Halberd — Transmog Set Guide
Overview

Icy Ebon Halberd is a high-quality two-handed polearm available exclusively to death knights. It is one of the appearances from the Ebon Blade armament set, added to World of Warcraft in the Legion expansion (patch 7.2).
Visually, it is a massive battle halberd in the signature Ebon Blade style: a dark haft topped with a wide curved blade with jagged edges. As the name "icy" suggests, the edge of the blade gives off a distinctive cold blue glow that emphasizes the theme of undeath and frost. The weapon looks grim and ceremonial, like the ritual glaive of a fallen knight.
The item's stats are irrelevant today — this is a collectible appearance for transmogrification. It binds when picked up, and only a death knight can wield the halberd.
Source
The appearance is unlocked through a special set item rather than dropping directly from a mob.
- The item you need is
Arsenal: Armaments of the Ebon Blade. When used, it unlocks the appearances of the entire Ebon Blade armament set at once, including the halberd. - The set is sold by Warmage Kath'leen, the quartermaster of the Armies of Legionfall faction. She stands at the Deliverance Point camp on the Broken Shore (approximate coordinates 44, 62).
- The set costs 1000 Veiled Argunite. This is a Broken Shore currency that can be farmed without limits from local quests, chests, and killing mobs.
- The purchase is available to any death knight character level 40 and above; no faction reputation is required for the purchase itself.
Since the set unlocks several Ebon Blade weapon appearances at once, a single purchase pays off especially well: you get not only the halberd but also other weapon types from the same series.
Who It Suits Visually
- Frost death knight looks, where the blue glow of the blade echoes the theme of frost.
- Ebon Blade armor sets and outfits in a cold blue-steel palette.
- Fallen paladin or undead knight concepts: the halberd reads as a desecrated ceremonial weapon.
- Builds with an emphasis on blue and azure glow — the weapon adds a cold light accent to the silhouette.
Tips
A single set unlocks several Ebon Blade weapon appearances at once — it is more worthwhile to save up for it than to hunt down individual items.
Veiled Argunite is fastest farmed through local quests and chests on the Broken Shore, so 1000 units come together in a couple of sessions.
It makes sense to buy the set on a death knight character — other classes cannot access the Ebon Blade armament appearances.
Use the item right after purchase: it is consumed and adds all the set's appearances to your account collection.
If you have several death knights, you only need to unlock the appearances once — the collection is shared across the entire account.
All three color variants of the halberd unlock together, so you will not need to buy the recolors separately.
