Immolation Warning — Transmog Set Guide
Overview

Immolation Warning is an epic two-handed staff added to World of Warcraft in The War Within expansion alongside the second season and the Undermine zone. It is a staff with a distinctive "deep-mine" silhouette: a massive goblin head in an industrial style that nods to the cartel machinery and drilling mechanisms of the zone. The model belongs to the Undermine weapon family, so the staff blends seamlessly into any goblin- and engineering-themed look.
Source
The staff does not drop from an ordinary boss, but from a special source — the Jettisoned Pile of Goblin-Bucks. This pile is left behind by The Underpin — a goblin in a black-blood war machine who, during the second season of The War Within, has a small chance to burst into your delve.
The mechanic for obtaining it works like this:
- The Underpin appears at random, at any point during a delve run.
- To make him flee and leave his loot behind, you need to bring his health down to 50%.
- If he wipes out everyone in the delve, he leaves as well, but you do not get the loot.
- After he flees, a Jettisoned Pile of Goblin-Bucks is left in his place, and that is what drops the weapons, including this staff.
From the same pile, alongside the items, drops the
Delver's Bounty, as well as Undermine coins and resonant crystals. The staff is only one of the possible rewards, so farming requires patience: the drop is not guaranteed from a single appearance of The Underpin.
An important nuance: both The Underpin as a delve invader and his pile of currency were tied to the second season of The War Within. Once it ended, the random invasions may have become unavailable, so before farming with intent, it is worth checking whether this mechanic is active in the current season on your server.
Who It Suits Visually
- It fits goblin- and engineering-themed looks — the industrial head echoes the machinery and cartel technology.
- It harmonizes with sets in dark-metallic and brass tones typical of Undermine gear.
- It contrasts strikingly with the light cloth looks of mages and priests — a controversial but memorable choice for those who want a "grimy" technological vibe.
- It is fitting for inventor and miner character concepts, where you need not a classic "magical" staff but a working tool with character.
Tips
Farm for The Underpin's appearance in regular Undermine delves — he can burst into a run of any difficulty level.
Do not let The Underpin wipe the whole group: the goal is to take 50% of his health, after which he flees and leaves the pile of loot.
Take the
Delver's Bounty with you if it drops: it guarantees a stash at the end of a tier 4 or higher delve and speeds up overall farming.
It is most convenient to farm on specializations with fast damage that quickly strip The Underpin of the needed 50% of his health.
Remember the staff is bound to the character: to unlock the appearance, equip the item with the class that received the drop.
Before a series of runs, check whether The Underpin's invasion mechanic is active in the current season — it was tied to the second season of The War Within.
Completing a single delve takes about 10–20 minutes on average, so farming is convenient to combine with the zone's weekly rewards.
