Incandescent Soulcleaver is an epic two-handed sword from the Dragonflight expansion (patch 10.2). It is a massive fire-themed blade: a broad edge with glowing veins and smoldering rims, as if the metal had just been pulled from the forge. The sword is obtained from a fight against a fire lord, so its model is built entirely around the motif of flame and molten steel.
The weapon suits classes that wield Strength-based two-handed swords — Warriors, Death Knights and Paladins. For transmog, it is prized for its fiery silhouette and the glowing veins on the blade, which stand out clearly in combat; the item's stats as loot are no longer relevant.

Incandescent Soulcleaver drops from Smolderon — the fire lord and one of the bosses of the Amirdrassil, the Dream's Hope raid.
- The sword is available on all raid difficulties: Raid Finder, Normal, Heroic and Mythic — only the item level differs.
- According to Wowhead, the drop chance is around 32%, making it one of the most generous weapon drops from this boss.
- Loot is limited to one boss kill per week on each difficulty (personal loot).
- The Smolderon fight is located in the middle of the raid, so you don't need to kill the final boss to farm the sword.
The raid belongs to the Dragonflight expansion and is already considered outdated, so over time it becomes easier and easier to clear it with a small group for transmog.
Who It Suits Visually
- It fits fiery and "molten" sets in a red-orange palette — for example, plate sets with a flame motif.
- It harmonizes with dark armor, where the glowing blade works as a bright contrasting accent.
- It looks great in Death Knight and Warrior looks built around the theme of fire and destruction.
- It contrasts with cold, icy and holy sets — for those, it's better to pick a sword in a calmer color range.
Tips
The most convenient way to farm is a weekly run on Smolderon at the difficulty available to you; you can start with Raid Finder if you don't have a regular group.
The high drop chance (around 32%) means the sword usually drops within a few runs — months of farming aren't required.
The sword is only contested by Strength two-handed specializations, so when playing with other players, competition for it is usually low.
The Smolderon fight is in the middle of the raid, so for a weekly run it's enough to reach him without clearing the raid all the way to Fyrakk.
As the Amirdrassil raid becomes more outdated, it can be cleared with an ever-smaller group — over time, farming the sword comes down to a quick solo or duo run.
The item level depends on difficulty, but the appearance is the same on all modes, so for transmog take the sword on the easiest available difficulty.
