Overview

Сабля железного бойца

Game iconIron Soldier's Saber is an epic one-handed sword from the Warlords of Draenor expansion. The blade is styled in the rough, industrial aesthetic of the Iron Horde: dark metal, a massive guard and an angular edge reminiscent of factory-forged weaponry crafted in Blackrock Foundry. It's a concise "military" model with no needless ornamentation that fits brutal outfits well.

The sword suits classes that wield one-handed swords: rogues, warriors, death knights, demon hunters and other specializations that use this weapon type. The content is long outdated, so the item's stats are irrelevant — the saber's value lies entirely in its appearance for transmogrification.

Source

Iron Soldier's Saber drops from Blackhand — the final boss of the Blackrock Foundry raid, introduced in Warlords of Draenor.

  • The raid is outdated content, so it can be cleared solo by virtually any level 90 class.
  • The approximate drop chance for the saber is around 15%.
  • The attempt limit is one run per week per character, so farming makes sense across several characters.
  • The entrance to Blackrock Foundry is located in the northern part of Gorgrond; the nearest flight master is Sorcerer Skyburst.
  • Blackhand is the last boss of the raid, so you need to clear the previous wings to reach him, but doing this solo at current level takes only a few minutes.

Who It Suits Visually

  • It harmonizes with dark metallic Iron Horde sets and industrial warrior looks.
  • It complements plate and mail sets in muted gray-steel tones.
  • It contrasts with a paladin's bright, golden armor — a debatable but expressive choice for the image of a grim fighter.
  • It fits a black-and-red palette accented with forge fire: such sets emphasize the blade's "factory" origin.

Tips

1

Blackrock Foundry is killed solo without any trouble, so a dedicated farming group isn't needed.

2

The most convenient class for farming is any with fast movement and good survivability, so you can quickly run to Blackhand through the raid wings.

3

You can enter once a week on each character, so use alts to increase your number of attempts.

4

Before farming, open your transmogrification collection and make sure this appearance hasn't already been obtained.

5

Blackhand also drops other Tier 17-level transmog loot, so a run pays off with several appearances at once.

6

If the sword doesn't drop on the first try, just come back every week — the chance will eventually come through.

Started playing back in Pandaria, when the pandaren were still a novelty. Got stuck on Monk because it's the only class where you don't get dizzy after a dash. Tries to manage both tanking and kicking enemies in the face.
