Started playing back in Pandaria, when the pandaren were still a novelty. Got stuck on Monk because it's the only class where you don't get dizzy after a dash. Tries to manage both tanking and kicking enemies in the face.
Ironfeather Longbow is an epic ranged bow added to World of Warcraft in the Cataclysm expansion alongside the Well of Eternity dungeon. The model is built on a dark wooden frame with silvery steel fittings and a distinctive fan of feathers near the grip, which is what gave the bow its name. The silhouette is long and slender, with no bulky ornamentation — this makes it a versatile base for "nature" and elven looks.
The bow suits any class that can use bows: hunters as a main weapon, and warriors and rogues as a ranged transmogrification slot. Stylistically it harks back to the era of the night elves and the War of the Ancients, into which the player is taken by the dungeon's storyline.
The bow cannot be looted from a regular mob — it is awarded as a reward for the quest "The Path to the Dragon Soul", which starts in the Well of Eternity dungeon. The dungeon is located in the time-traveling zone of Tanaris and belongs to the heroic dungeons of patch 4.3.
At the current maximum level (90 in the Midnight expansion) the dungeon can be cleared solo without difficulty — mobs and bosses are killed in a few hits. The Well of Eternity has no mechanics that are hard for solo play, and a healer or group is not required. You can enter through the dungeon finder interface or directly through the portal in Tanaris.
The optimal class for fast farming is anything with high mobility and area damage, so you can run through the dungeon without stopping.
The dungeon is short: on a solo run the whole clear takes about 5–10 minutes.
If you specifically want the bow, choose your reward carefully when turning in the quest — taking another item means running it again.
There is no limit on the number of runs per day, so you can collect all four rewards in one evening across several alts or via repeated clears.
The bow is a ranged slot, so in the transmogrification editor it is applied separately from the main-hand and off-hand melee weapons.
Before entering, make sure access to the dungeon is open through the dungeon finder: Cataclysm heroic dungeon chains require no separate reputation or attunement at the current level.
If you are hunting several appearances at once, keep alts of different classes in the group — a mail belt and leather boots will come in handy for different characters.
