Get Ironfoe
Overview

Ironfoe is a one-handed mace from the original World of Warcraft and one of the most recognizable dwarven weapons of the classic era. It is a massive dark iron hammer with a short haft and an angular head, forged by the master smith Franclorn Forgewright. The item can be obtained by any class capable of wielding one-handed blunt weapons.
Its signature trait is the built-in effect "Chance on hit: Your attacks have a chance to strike twice," granting a chance for an extra blow. For transmog, what matters is exactly this legend and the distinctive model: Ironfoe remains a coveted weapon for Dark Iron dwarf and blacksmith-themed looks.
Source
Ironfoe drops only from a dungeon — it is a classic item drop with no purchase or crafting options.
- It drops from the final boss, Emperor Dagran Thaurissan, in the Blackrock Depths dungeon.
- The difficulty is low: at max level the dungeon can be cleared solo in a few minutes.
- The drop chance is around 6.42%.
- The boss is located in the far part of the dungeon, and you can reach him almost directly, skipping most of the halls.
- The item is bind on pickup, so only the player who actually loots it can take it.
- There are no personal attempt limits, but a general cap on the number of dungeon entries per hour and per day does apply.
Who It Suits Visually
- Perfect for Dark Iron dwarf looks and any blacksmith concepts: the dark metal of the head echoes the plate sets from Blackrock Mountain.
- It pairs well with a shield on a warrior or paladin built around combat and tank themes.
- It suits fire and earth elemental shamans — the squat, heavy shape reinforces the image of an elemental hammer.
- It works as a contrast with light cloth and leather sets — a debatable but memorable choice of a heavy weapon in the hands of a fragile character.
- It blends with dark red and bronze armor palettes; on cold blue-and-silver sets it looks less impressive.
Tips
The fastest farming method is a solo run at max level: head straight for the final boss, skipping most of the dungeon.
A roughly 6% chance means about fifteen to twenty runs on average, so plan for several game nights of regular farming.
Keep the general cap on dungeon entries per hour and per day in mind — during heavy farming it can interrupt your run streak.
The appearance is added to your account-wide collection, but only a class that can wield one-handed maces can obtain the item itself.
While farming, also pay attention to other loot from Emperor Dagran Thaurissan and the dungeon chests — they drop other classic transmog items too.
For speed runs, mobile classes with self-healing are convenient: a paladin, demon hunter, or monk clears the dungeon especially fast.
If you farm in a group, agree on loot distribution in advance — there is only one Ironfoe, and there may be several people who want it.

Started playing back in Pandaria, when the pandaren were still a novelty. Got stuck on Monk because it's the only class where you don't get dizzy after a dash. Tries to manage both tanking and kicking enemies in the face.
