Overview

Jagged Iris Sica

Game iconJagged Iris Sica is a one-handed dagger of blue quality that appeared in World of Warcraft with the Battle for Azeroth expansion. It is a short blade shaped like a Roman sica, with a distinctive curve and a jagged edge. The appearance is rendered in a cold blue-violet palette with an iridescent sheen on the blade: the grip is wrapped in dark leather, while the crossguard and pommel are cast from dull metal that looks coated in frost.

The dagger belongs to the Battle for Azeroth dungeon weapon set: its model is styled in a grim Drust aesthetic that echoes the cursed forest of Drustvar and the ritual motifs of the Waycrest family. By its stats it is an intellect and stamina item, so it suits mages, druids, priests, shamans, warlocks, and conjurers. For transmogrification, however, only the look itself matters — the item's stats no longer carry any practical value today.

As a combat weapon the sica has long been irrelevant — its item level is meaningless at max level. But as a transmog appearance the dagger is valuable in its own right: it is one of the most striking "cold" dagger models of Battle for Azeroth, with an iridescent shimmer across the metal.

Source

The Jagged Iris Sica drops from the first encounter of the Waycrest Manor dungeon — the "Heartsbane Triad" fight, which features three witches of the Waycrest line. This particular blade is listed in the loot of Sister Briar.

  • The dungeon is located in the Drustvar zone on the continent of Kul Tiras, on the northwestern coast. The entrance to the manor itself is on the cliffs in the upper part of the map, roughly /way Drustvar 33.6 13.0 Entrance to Waycrest Manor.
  • Difficulties: "Normal", "Heroic", "Mythic", and "Mythic+" mode. The appearance can drop on any difficulty — for transmogrification it makes no difference.
  • Besides Sister Briar, the fight also includes Sister Malady and Sister Solena. In the loot journal the dagger is assigned to Sister Briar.
  • The drop chance is low — the blade shares its loot table with many other first-encounter items, and Blizzard does not publish the exact percentage.
  • The attempt limit is once per day on "Normal" and "Heroic", and once per week on "Mythic". "Mythic+" mode can be run without a limit, and each run gives an independent chance at the appearance.

To enter the dungeon, you need to own the Battle for Azeroth expansion and have access to Kul Tiras. Alliance players reach the continent through the story campaign out of Stormwind; Horde players reach it via the landing in Zuldazar. After Kul Tiras opens up, teleportation to Drustvar becomes available in Boralus Harbor.

The dungeon is fully soloable at max level — Battle for Azeroth content has long been outdated and goes down quickly. There are no strict group-composition requirements: any class with acceptable single-target damage will do.

Alternatives

The Jagged Iris Sica has no confirmed color recolors with separate item IDs — it is a standalone appearance from the Battle for Azeroth dungeon weapon set. Variants similar in silhouette and theme are worth looking for among other Kul Tiras weapons and the cursed lands of Drustvar.

  • Daggers from other Battle for Azeroth dungeons styled in a cold blue-violet palette are the closest in spirit.
  • Open-world Drustvar weapons with Drust motifs — for looks where the blade should appear ritual and cursed.
  • Daggers from Battle for Azeroth raids include several models in a similar style.

If you want this exact appearance, you should farm the dagger itself in Waycrest Manor: the item has no alternative source for the very same model.

Visual Fit

  • Suits looks in a cold blue-violet palette — the blade harmonizes with dark leather and cloth armor of the same shade.
  • Fitting for concepts tied to Drust rituals and the cursed witches of Waycrest — the appearance directly references the art style of Drustvar.
  • Pairs well with frost-mage and shadow-priest builds — the iridescent gleam of the metal echoes the effects of those spells.
  • Contrasts with light plate armor — a debatable but expressive combination of a ritual blade with heavy armor.
  • Looks great paired with an identical dagger in both hands on rogues and enhancement shamans — two matching sicas form a cohesive dual silhouette.

Tips

1

The main path to the appearance is farming the first encounter of the Waycrest Manor dungeon, so it is enough to kill the three sisters and grab the loot — then you can reset the dungeon and enter again.

2

Resetting the dungeon is done through the group menu (right-click your character portrait → "Reset all instances") — this lets you clear the first encounter several times in a row in a single session.

3

It is most convenient to farm on classes with good single-target damage and survivability — for example, a demon hunter, a protection paladin, or a guardian druid.

4

The appearance unlocks in the transmogrification collection once any character on the account receives the item — farming on alts works too.

5

The dagger is intellect gear, but for transmogrification that does not matter: the appearance is available to any class that can wield daggers.

6

Besides the sica itself, the encounter also drops the rest of the Heartsbane Triad transmog — so you can collect several gear pieces that match the blade at the same time.

7

During a week with an active "Timewalking" event for Battle for Azeroth, the dungeon enters the rotation — in such periods it is convenient to enter it through the dungeon finder without flying out to Kul Tiras.

8

Clearing all of Waycrest Manor takes 10–15 minutes at max level, so it is convenient to break the appearance farm into short sessions instead of one long run.
