Overview

Lantresor's Warblade

Game iconLantresor's Warblade is a rare two-handed polearm from The Burning Crusade expansion. Despite the word "blade" in its name, the item is classified in-game as a polearm, so it occupies the two-handed weapon slot and is animated accordingly. Visually, it is a long, broad blade on a massive haft, kept in a stern orcish style — a nod to its owner, the half-draenei, half-orc Lantresor of the Blade, leader of the Boulderfist clan in Nagrand.

The model is prized for its clean, recognizable "sword-on-a-haft" silhouette without unnecessary decoration, which makes it a convenient base for looks in the spirit of Outland's blade masters and mercenaries. The item is level 80 and has strength and agility stats, but today it is interesting purely as an appearance.

Lantresor's Warblade becomes soulbound on pickup, so you cannot farm or trade it — the appearance is unlocked only by whoever completes the required quest chain.

Source

Lantresor's Warblade is the reward for the quest that concludes Lantresor of the Blade's chain in Nagrand. The final task differs depending on your faction, but the item is the same.

  • The chain is given by Lantresor of the Blade — a friendly NPC near the Burning Blade ruins in Nagrand.
  • For the Alliance, the reward comes from the quest Message to Telaar: you must deliver the Burning Blade's peace offering to Arechron in Telaar.
  • For the Horde, it is the quest Message to Garadar: the same offering is taken to Garrosh in Garadar.
  • The reward is granted guaranteed upon turning in the quest — it is not a drop, so there is no chance to farm.
  • The chain can be completed once per character, so it is worth claiming the appearance on the hero who needs it.

Quest giver coordinates:

/way Nagrand 73.8 62.4 Lantresor of the Blade

To reach Lantresor, you simply need to get to Outland through the Dark Portal and fly to Nagrand — this chain has no reputation or story requirements.

Who It Suits Visually

  • Suits orcish and mercenary looks of Outland thanks to its stern, unadorned blade geometry.
  • Harmonizes with dark and steel color schemes of heavy armor.
  • Works well for warriors and death knights who use a polearm in the role of a two-hander.
  • Contrasts with fantasy "ornate" sets — a debatable but expressive choice for a minimalist, "battle-ready" look.

Tips

1

Lantresor's chain is short and requires no reputation, so the appearance is locked in with a single trip to Nagrand.

2

The final quest depends on your faction: for the Alliance it is "Message to Telaar," for the Horde "Message to Garadar"; take the one available to your character.

3

At level 90, all of the chain's mobs are killed instantly, so the run takes mere minutes, mostly spent flying.

4

Remember that this is a polearm, not a sword — in the transmog preview, look for it in the polearm category.

5

The item binds on pickup, so decide in advance which character needs this appearance.

6

While completing the chain, you can also pick up Nagrand's accompanying lore and close out adjacent zone quests during the same visit.
