Legacy — Transmog Set Guide
Overview

Legacy is an epic-quality two-handed axe with a strict, noble look. Its wide, symmetrical blade with golden trim and a dark haft looks more like a ceremonial weapon than a crude battle axe. The design nods to draenei aesthetics: according to its flavor text, it was wielded by draenei exarchs ever since their exile from Argus.
The axe was added to World of Warcraft in The Burning Crusade expansion. Its item level is 38, so today it is valued purely as an appearance for transmogrification. Thanks to its clean lines and warm golden palette, it fits "holy" and paladin looks very well.
The appearance suits any class that can wield two-handed axes: warriors, paladins, death knights, demon hunters, and shamans.
Source
The axe drops in Karazhan, a classic raid from The Burning Crusade expansion.
- Legacy is obtained during the Opera Event, in a production based on "The Wizard of Oz."
- The post-fight loot is held by The Crone, the final opponent of this version of the Opera Event.
- The Opera Event randomly picks one of the productions each time the raid is launched, so the storyline you need with The Big Bad Wolf and The Crone may not show up right away.
- Karazhan is legacy content and can be soloed on virtually any class and level without any troublesome mechanics.
- The raid resets weekly, so if the production you need does not appear, it is worth going back the following week.
Visual fit
- Pairs well with "holy" paladin sets in white-and-gold tones.
- Harmonizes with draenei looks and sets with gold trim thanks to the item's lore.
- Suits ceremonial, "parade" outfits that call for a strict, symmetrical weapon.
- Contrasts with dark death knight sets, a debatable but expressive accent.
Tips
The most reliable farming method is to enter Karazhan once a week and check which production rolled for the Opera Event.
If the wrong production appears, you can reset the dungeon difficulty and try again within the available attempts.
On highly mobile classes, getting through Karazhan to the opera hall is faster, but at this level the boss poses no threat.
The appearance is account-bound to your warband collection: once you obtain it, you unlock it for every character on the account.
Besides the axe, the Opera Event also drops other weapon and armor appearances, so regular runs are useful for several transmog goals at once.
Karazhan is convenient to farm in a "bundle" together with other old raids in a single transmog run.
