Legacy of Arlokk — Transmog Set Guide
Overview

Legacy of Arlokk is an epic two-handed staff added to World of Warcraft in the Cataclysm expansion alongside the reworked Zul'Gurub dungeon. The head is crafted in a troll style: bony elements and a dark shaft with the distinctive predatory aesthetic of the Hakkari cult, which fits "priestly" and "shamanic" troll looks well.
The staff's name references High Priestess Arlokk, a Zandalari priestess from the original Zul'Gurub raid. Today the item is valued mainly as a rare appearance: its item level 38 stats have long been irrelevant, but the themed staff remains in demand for transmogrification.
Source
The staff drops in the Cataclysm-era Zul'Gurub dungeon — a five-player heroic mode, not the original raid.
- It drops from the dungeon's final boss, Jin'do the Godbreaker.
- The drop rate is high for a rare appearance — around 23%, meaning the staff drops in roughly 4-5 runs on average.
- There is no attempt limit: the dungeon can be reset, with only the standard instance entry counter as a restriction.
Zul'Gurub is outdated content, so at the current maximum level it can be cleared solo without any trouble. No group or special access conditions are required: simply enter the dungeon on heroic difficulty and reach the final fight.
How to Get There
The entrance to Zul'Gurub is in Northern Stranglethorn, on the eastern shore, north of Fort Livingston.
The easiest way to get there is via a hearthstone set in Stranglethorn, or through portals from the capitals to the Eastern Kingdoms followed by a flight south.
Alternatives and Similar Appearances
The staff has no direct recolor variants. By silhouette and troll theme, other staves from Zul'Gurub and transmog rewards from the same dungeon come close to it.
| Appearance | Type | Source |
|---|---|---|
| Two-handed staff | Jin'do the Godbreaker, Zul'Gurub |
Who It Suits Visually
- Ideal for troll priest and shaman looks with a dark, "voodoo" theme.
- Pairs well with bone and leather sets in brown-green tones.
- Suits druids and priests assembling a "wild" or "primal" look.
- Contrasts with light cloth armor, adding a grim accent of the Hakkari cult.
Tips
Farming is easiest on a class with high mobility and good self-healing — a paladin, monk, or demon hunter clears the dungeon in just a few minutes.
The roughly 23% drop chance does not guarantee the staff on the first try: plan for several runs and reset the dungeon between attempts.
While you are at it, farm the rest of Jin'do's loot and the other bosses — Zul'Gurub offers a whole set of troll weapon and armor appearances.
The dungeon also drops toys and themed rewards, so fully clearing your runs pays off the time spent.
The appearance is added to your transmogrification collection once obtained, so there is no need to farm it again on other characters.
