This is item level 276 gear on the "Hero" upgrade track, requiring level 90. The staff is intended for specializations that use intellect: mages, druids, priests, shamans, warlocks, monks and evokers. Beyond its stats, it has a use effect Lightgrasp Worldroot that banishes a hostile aberration and prevents it from acting for 30 seconds, but it only works in raids.

The staff is obtained in the raid The Voidspire — the first raid of the Midnight expansion's season, located in Quel'Thalas. The raid consists of six bosses and concludes with a clash against the final opponent.
