Lightless Lament — Transmog Set Guide
Overview

Lightless Lament is an epic one-handed warglaive added to World of Warcraft with the release of the Midnight expansion. Warglaives are wielded only by demon hunters, so the item's appearance is exclusive to that class.
The model is built around the dark naaru aesthetic of the final raid: the curved blade glows with a cold bluish-violet light, sparks of the Void glide along its edge, and shadows coil around the hilt. The appearance directly references the story of L'ura — the fallen naaru whose essence corrupted the Sunwell and turned it into the Darkwell. It is one of the most "cosmic" glaive appearances among the first-season Midnight rewards.
Mechanically, the item is a paired glaive: demon hunters wield two of these blades at once, which makes the appearance especially striking in combat. The item's quality is epic, and the required level is 90.
Source
Lightless Lament drops from L'ura — this is the Midnight Collapse encounter, the final boss of the March on Quel'Danas raid in the Midnight expansion.
- The raid is located on the Isle of Quel'Danas, north of Silvermoon, near the Sunwell.
- The raid has two bosses: Belo'ren comes first, followed by the final clash with L'ura.
- The appearance is obtained from the final boss, so you will have to clear the entire raid in any case.
- The item is available on all difficulties: Looking for Raid, Normal, Heroic and Mythic.
- The appearance is identical across all difficulties, with only the stats differing, so to get the look it is enough to kill the boss on whichever difficulty is most comfortable.
- The fight with L'ura consists of three phases with a short breather between the first and second; the key mechanics are the "Light and Void" polarity system, the "Dirge of Death" memory game, and dealing with the Midnight and Dawn crystals.
The raid entrance is on the Isle of Quel'Danas. The most convenient way to get there is through the portal from Silvermoon or via the flight path.
Alternatives / Recolors
There are no confirmed in-game recolors of this exact model as of the launch of the first Midnight season. The appearance is unique to the reward from L'ura and tied to the raid's dark naaru theme.
If you need a similar paired warglaive in terms of silhouette, take a look at the general catalog of warglaive appearances on Wowhead and pick a variant to match the color scheme you want. For glowing "cosmic" combinations, appearances with a Void effect and a cold edge glow work well.
Who It Suits Visually
- Suits demon hunters putting together a look in the dark naaru palette of the first Midnight season.
- Harmonizes with armor in cold bluish-violet tones and Void effects.
- Pairs well with appearances that feature glow and cosmic patterns — the glaive reinforces this theme thanks to its sparkling edge.
- Contrasts with the bright "solar" blood elf sets, playing on the story of the Sunwell's fall.
- Fits dark, "shadowy" looks where you want a bright accent on the weapon.
Tips
The appearance is tied to the final boss, so plan for a full raid clear rather than separate segments.
The look does not depend on difficulty — pick the one your group clears most confidently.
On Normal difficulty and in Looking for Raid the fight is noticeably more forgiving of mistakes in the polarity mechanics, which is convenient for farming the appearance.
You can go in for the appearance every week until the boss drops it; loot resets once a week.
Warglaives are wielded only by demon hunters, so it makes sense to collect this appearance specifically on that class.
During the "Dirge of Death" phase, agree on positions within the group in advance — it is the main stumbling block on first attempts.
Bring a reliable healer: on the third phase the arena fills with high damage-over-time darkness, and you need to stay close to the carriers of the Dawn crystals.
