Lightning Dagger — Transmog Set Guide

Lightning Dagger is an uncommon one-handed dagger with an electric styling, added to World of Warcraft in the Burning Crusade expansion. The model is a short blade engraved with zigzags that resemble lightning bolts, fitting looks for elemental mages, shamans and dark spellcasters.

The item belongs to the category of caster daggers with a "random property": when you receive it, one of several suffixes appears on it, such as "of the Owl," "of the Bear" or "of Spell Power," adding intellect, stamina or mana regeneration. The icon color and model do not change, so a single copy with any suffix is enough for a transmog wardrobe.

The dagger is available to spellcasters: mages, druids, priests, shamans, warlocks and summoners. The required level is 25, which makes it an easy target even for alts at the very start of leveling.

The "Lightning Dagger" cannot be obtained from a slain mob or a chest — the only known way to acquire it is fishing inside the The Underbog dungeon, part of the Coilfang Reservoir complex in Zangarmarsh.

• Enter the dungeon on normal or heroic difficulty — any mode is fine for fishing, and boss fights are not required.
• Fish the "open" pools and bodies of water inside the instance; named pools are not needed here, as the dagger is caught from the general rare-loot table of the inner waters.
• The catch chance is low — this is a rare trophy, so expect dozens of casts. The most convenient spots are large open stretches of water between mob groups.
• There is no bind on pickup — the dagger can be sold at the auction house or passed to another character, as long as you do not equip it yourself.
• There is no limit on attempts: the dungeon can be visited as many times as you like, and the lockout does not apply to fishing.

For more comfortable fishing, keep bait and a fishing pole with a leveled Fishing skill on hand — this will reduce the share of "empty" casts from the general table.

• It fits well into mage and shaman sets in a blue-purple palette — for example, alongside the "Vestments of Tirisfal" tier or early Burning Crusade caster gear.
• It suits character looks with an elemental theme of thunder and storm — especially for shamans and blood elf caster classes.
• It harmonizes with one-handed staves and focus items in dark blue and silver tones.
• It looks striking in "natural" druid sets: it emphasizes the motif of a sharp element against the backdrop of green and brown cloth.
• It works as an off-hand or main-hand for "mage duelist" looks, where a compact dagger matters more than a bulky blade.
